I did it for my big one and I'll do it tomorrow for my second one.

Drive back to school at lunchtime to watch them load and go off for a 3 day trip?

Wait till the coach is out of sight before going back to my day wiping happy/saddy tears away from my face.

AIBU to enjoy, nay, positive indulge, myself in these significant momnets?

oh Hi son mum was just passing you forgot your erm urm spare socks Grin

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 13:12

so what are you both going to do with only 1 child at home

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2012 13:13

According to the itinerary they will have left Folkestone 20 minutes ago. Not that I am looking at it though. Grin

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 13:15

did you remember to switch his GPS on Wink dd was at a theme part the other week i was beside myself Blush

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2012 13:15

DS2 wants a friend round for tea while DS1 isn't around, but other than that i think he is looking forward to having DH and I to himself.
I think he has picked up on it being a bit 'all about DS1' lately. DS1 has this trip and is starting a new school on 25/6 so I feel a bit bad that DS2 may have felt sidelined. Sad

BelieveInPink · 18/06/2012 13:18

Oh Christ, I am dreading this.

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 13:20

that happens though it will happen all the time its swings and roundabouts 1 has stuff going on then the other.
when your youngest goes on his trip or starts high school you will feel Ds1 is being left out
spend some time with him this week he will be fine,
we are going through this going to a wedding this weekend dd1 is going on holiday Hols were booked first, so dd2 is getting all the attention with dresses hair appointments dd2 was also in school show last week so its all been her , dd1 is feeling a bit miffed,

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2012 13:23

It's horrible isn't it Mrsjay. DS2 has been dragged along on shopping trips for new school uniform for DS1 then stuff for the Germany trip so he has quite rightly been a bit stroppy.

I think we may go to the pub for dinner tonight. Smile

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 13:35

sounds a lovely idea Smile I guess its just normal children can't be equal all the time stuff happens you do feel for them,

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2012 13:39

DS1 is officially 'abroad'. Shock they arrive in Calais at 1.25pm according to the itinerary that I'm not really looking at.

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 21:43

oh so if you were to look at the itinerary what time did he arrive in germany

Sparklingbrook · 18/06/2012 21:44

He arrived an hour ago. He texted. Grin He has eaten Broth, Bolognaise and Jelly. Shock

Mrsjay · 18/06/2012 21:50

least he has eaten what a weird combo Grin chaos have you heard from yours yet ?

ChaosTrlyReigns · 22/06/2012 12:23

Shes back! Tired, grumpy and forty but back home. Yay. My house is filled with accapella again.

Sparklingb, how's your DS doing, is he on his awy back yet.?

winnybella · 22/06/2012 12:29

DS (10) left few days ago on a school trip to Brittany. For 10 days. They are learning to sail.

I just got a letter from him saying hi and listing all the sea creatures he caught rock pooling. Nothing about whether he changes his underwear every day, how's the food etc. Hmm. I'm sure he's fine
