Hi there - just wanted to see if anyone had tried the Tesco Every Day Value range of baby products and if they were any good? The baby bath, lotion and shampoo range from 9-11p - AIBU to buy these for my newborn? My husband says yes but compared to branded products, how different can they be? I have bought one of each to test on me but just wanted to see what opinions were and if anyone had tried them? Thanks very much!

I have used the cheap Sainsburys shampoo on my DS who has eczema and it is perfect for him, cleans without irritating. I tried it when it was 5p a bottle and have used it since.
I use either sainsburys or tesco cheap bubble bath for DD (have used it on DS before his eczema got bad - due to chicken pox agravating it)
I have always washed DC hair with shops own - I hate the chemical smell of J&J. Loved boots sensitive range when they were tiny.

Forgot to say - I use Tesco value wipes on DS. They are fab, stay really moist even when the pack is left open. Only wipes that don't trigger his eczema.
I also use the value nappies and am happy with them. No nappy rash, and don't leak. Spot on for £1.70!

I've used the shampoo and found it great. No different to more expensive brands.

The 9p baby bath makes a great handwash refill! Tesco value baby wipes are abit harsh but great for cleaning furniture and leather sofas.Wink

What I find amazing is that Johnsons baby wipes remove biro pen from a leather sofa. With that in mind, I will never use them on any of my kids.

Its good to clean babies as they get dirty with poo and food, so just water isnt fine, they need cleaning chemicals; just as adults we wouldnt go out after a shower without shampooing hair etc.

Ive never bought the cheap stuff though. There was a reason why I didnt buy tesco savers wipes. Im not sure why but I compared ingrediants and I remember thinking I would just spend an extra 70p.

6 week olds don't get covered in food though - and their poo does just wipe away - really bad ones may need a quick bath

The tesco £1 newborn wipes ('as good as cotton wool and water' but a lot less faff) are great but otherwise you only need water as lots of posters have said. Think we put a very tiny bit of olive oil onto dry bits as directed by the midwife when he was tiny and it seemed to work. DS (4m) has bad excema (sp?) on his scalp so I tried the Boots Sensitive Conditioning shampoo recently (as GP suggested shampooing and brushing to get rid of old flakes) and it worked a treat.
