Oh of course I wouldn't! I luff him :)

But now I've got your attention can I divert you to this thread please, I had no replies! Shock but I know that some lovely person must have some advice for me

P.s sorry for the deception Blush

Hmm You have had replies. Its a bit shit of you to get people's emotions raging before they even click on the title through deception.

If you want lots of replies to your dog training problems, try a dog forum:

horseandhound.co.uk
petforums.co.uk

PrettyPrinceofParties · 14/06/2012 16:41

The reply you got was pretty good, comprehensive advice. Probably not much anyone can add. Retraining an adult dog will be hard work and unfortunately there's no silver bullet.

Back to basics. I think. Maybe join a training class to get rl advice too.

PandaWatch · 14/06/2012 16:46

OP only got replies to her original thread after posting this thread to be fair

MrsRhettButler · 14/06/2012 20:08

Yes, Panda is right, I only got replies once I'd posted this thread.
Apologies for the emotional deception but I had bumped my thread a couple of times but had no response.
I posted on MN because I know there are people here who have great advice and this is the forum I use daily.

MrsRhettButler · 14/06/2012 20:15

Oh and thanks pretty I don't have finances for training at this time but if I can't fix the problem I will have to save up and pay for classes. (I thought I'd try here first)

What a disgusting thread title.

I'm not clutching pearls, I just don't think you should play on people's emotions to get responses, then ignore the advice - the dog's hardly untrainable if it hasn't even had any training!

MrsRhettButler · 14/06/2012 20:55

Ok the dog ISN'T untrainable, I didn't put that in my original thread, that was just for this thread title.

And he HAS had training for the two years we've had him but he's still messing in the house so I'm asking for advice on this. He's a great dog and I love him very much.

And I HAVEN'T ignored any advice! I didn't get any advice until started this thread!

Report the thread if you like, I no longer need it :)

I'm sorry, I'm crabby tonight because of the wheelchair thread, I shouldn't take it out on you.

I don't like people suggesting having their animals destroyed - mine are part of the family and I could no more think about killing them than I could the human members of my family.

Mintyy · 14/06/2012 21:07

Sorry, but I think this is more than a bit dodgy.

If you don't get a lot of replies, you don't get a lot of replies.

This thread title and the reasoning for starting it is very dubious.

PrettyPrinceofParties · 14/06/2012 21:08

Where abouts do you live OP? I know of some pretty awesome dog schools that are very inexpensive.

MrsRhettButler · 14/06/2012 21:11

I haven't seen that thread :( I'm at work doing my best to NOT work

I'm sorry the title upset you, I hoped it would be ok as I said straight away that wasn't my intention, I really do love my dog and he has responded excellently to all other training so far :) its just this one thing we're stuck on and I had had no responses and was feeling desperate!
I would NEVER get rid of him even if I have to clean up poo for the rest of his days, he is great with my kids and he keeps me company at night :)

Really should start pretending to work now!

Mintyy! I didn't get any replies! But know there is loads of great advice here, sorry again.

I'm in bristol pretty

PrettyPrinceofParties · 14/06/2012 21:21

Bums! The schools I know are in the midlands. There's one that costs about £1.50 a session and the other is about £65 a year, but that's obedience, agility, fly ball and working trials. So you can train as often as you like, very good value. I wonder if there's anything similar close to you.

MrsRhettButler · 14/06/2012 21:29

Oh wow that is cheap! I thought it would be a LOT more! I will look around thanks

PrettyPrinceofParties · 14/06/2012 21:35

Both schools have members that compete at Crufts each year too, so not as though the quality is low.
