I will be leaving MN at the end of the day and I just wanted to say thank you to so many people - it has been a total blast!

I have learned so much, about how to get hair out of drains, how to avoid disablist language, how and when it is appropriate to use P&C spots, and a phenomenal number of new swear words!

You have saved me from socket covers and blind chains. You have picked me up when I thought I was the worst mum in the world and kicked me into going to the doctors when I was scared.

Special thanks to:

all my fellow woo-fighters - the fight to bring enlightenment to the internet is not a glamorous one...or even one we are going to win...but I would imagine we are destined to die trying...

the nobdies - for letting me spend a drunken night alone with a cardboard cut out of Tom Cruise

the BF gurus - you helped me out again and again and now I have completed my peer supporter training I one day hope to be even half a knowledgeable as you guys!

the killers - for letting me hang out when AIBU got too scary even if Octavia never made it on any of your lists

and finally the IPOAT ladies - what can I say about you? We have toured the universe (twice, the second time to apologize) and we have shared the joy of Johnny and the ...ahem...excitement... of Hugh...and lets face it, tatting is one of the most sort after transferable skills in the job market! ps. if you want to keep the coat of arms someone will probably have to rip it off my profile and repost....

So thank you all!

Entropy you just need an IT person to sort it for you. Don't give up that easily.

Come on woman, have a posset and get to it.

OP, I have often thought similar

I did a MN search under my name as was horrfied by the amount of personal stuff I have unwittingly entered

If for example I was murdered, god forbid! I am sure a detective could easily find my postings on here

I dont think people realise how muh we open ourselves on here TBH

24HourPARDyPerson · 13/06/2012 11:23

Entropygirl - just disguise yourself by adding 'if God wills it' to all your posts Wink

entropygirl · 13/06/2012 11:49

heh I am not sure which of "don't post anything too contentious" and adding "if God wills it" I would find harder....both seem pretty damn unlikely.

So lets talk quitting options....there is something you can do that removes all of your posts? Apparently I can get my name changed on all of my posts? Anything else I can consider?

OP posts:
Hullygully · 13/06/2012 11:56

you can have all your posts removed, ask mnhq

imnotmymum · 13/06/2012 11:57

Unless you are president of the USA I really doubt anyone would give a flying fig what you put on mumsnet. Are you in need of attention OP.

Oh but don't.

Ask for your name to be changed but don't have all your sterling arguments against crap like Reiki disappear forever. Grin

GetOrfMoiiLand · 13/06/2012 11:58

AND we're off...

The difference, imnotsomeoneorother, is that we care about entropy and don't want her to go.

You, however...

entropygirl · 13/06/2012 12:04

It's not that I think it's likely that anyone will track me down after a misplaced remark and bring the good name of my work place into disrepute..it's that it is possible. And it isn't really worth the risk just to indulge in ranting at people that are equally unlikely to every change their world view.

Anyway the real point of this was just to let you know I will miss you and it has been really valuable knowing you all!

So just take the warm glow and don't sweat the details!

GetOrfMoiiLand · 13/06/2012 12:09

Oh it is such a shame though entropy. But I understand why you would want to.

Maryz I think we should take the high road and just ignore the tiresome and po-faced.

imnotmymum · 13/06/2012 12:12

Ha Ha Hully I never expected anyone to care in virtual land anyway may change name to your suggestion though love it !

entropygirl · 13/06/2012 12:15

heh my last stand on the Reiki thread seems to have finally shut them all up for a few minutes....I should go now while I can feign victory :)

OP posts:
entropygirl · 13/06/2012 12:17

I will deffo be back if the ASA back my complaint against infacol though....it's seeming unlikely though as it has taken them 6 months and counting....

OP posts:
angelicstar · 13/06/2012 13:52

Sorry no victory

Am still loving my Reiki Grin

angelicstar · 13/06/2012 13:54

And you won't be able to hear the results of my Reiki trial if you leave!
