Single parents, happily married parents, parents in bad relationships...Who cares which family has the easiest life? How can you possibly generalise anyway?

I'm getting a bit fed up with conversations about this. Why does it have to be a competition to prove who has the most difficult life? Can't we just accept that parenting, in any family situation, is hard?

grrr. OK, now I've got that off my chest....I feel better already.

Belleflowers I think that's kind of the point though. Everyone needs to offload sometimes, about all sorts of big and small issues. If the next poster then starts a misery competition it's just not helpful. And it's unfair to dismiss someone's feelings out of hand.

And some people cope with some things well and other things not so well. The next person might be the other way around.

I would like to volunteer for the right-slap-bang-in-the-middle spot.

I am tired at the moment due to baby who constantly starts sleeping through the night and then stops again, but not as tired as someone whose baby never sleeps through. But moe tired than someone whose baby always sleeps through.

We have a decent income but a large mortgage so we are better off than lots of people but not as well off as lots of others.

My older child is driving me demented. But not as demented as lots of other children. But more demented than lots of angelic children I know.

I am on my own part of the week due to DP's work. But I get help from family.

Anyone want to set up a "not too much to whinge about but occasionally need a whinge anyway" support group?
