My previous nagging thread is obviously not controversial enough to grab your attention.

please.

Thanks and Wine

They dont want my bone marrow. Too old fat and knackered. They can have my platelets and stuff instead.

I'm going to have to try an make an appointment. I did it for the first time last year but they will now no longer come to my workplace - A HOSPITAL - and they had so many people donating last time that even with an appointment I had to wait 45 minutes before being wired up.

DailyMailSpy · 11/06/2012 19:30

My iron levels are too low to give blood, I really wish I could and was quite gutted when I was turned away again.

Northernlurker · 11/06/2012 19:31

Oh aaaargh - there are NO weekend appointments nearby and I would have to take time off work during the week. Can't go with dcs - dd3 could run amok. I will have to try and co-incide it with needing childfree time off.

DailyMailSpy · 11/06/2012 19:31

I've only been able to give twice.

TeaandHobnobs · 11/06/2012 19:31

I will do when im allowed to once DS reaches six months! Got jabbed so much before he was born, I am now immune to needle fear Grin

Bloody hell op. getting excited then.. No don't do sex in public places but do give blood.

MrsHelsBels74 · 11/06/2012 20:01

I would do but am pregnant. Can't remember how many times I've donated before though & I got my husband started so am doing my best Grin

Another anaemic here, also cannot go on the Anthony Nolan register due to a slight reaction to latex condoms :(

I am an organ donor though and got DP to sign up to Anthony Nolan. I plan to get my super-blood-donor-sister to get on the Anthony Nolan register when I next speak to her as we're mixed race, so always handy! :o

DartsAgain · 11/06/2012 20:16

Gave donation No 43 three weeks ago. Aiming to reach 60 at least, and will probably pass that.

DP is on meds at the mo that means he can't donate but he did manage plenty before having to stop.

My DM managed a few before she took ill, but she'd had hepatitis as a child and always thought that meant she couldn't. I spoke to a nurse who told me a simple blood test would determine if she was a carrier and if not she could donate. She was quite happy to learn that she could.

Dad and DB both can't for various medical reasons, so I'm brainwashing the kids to do their duty when they're older. Grin
