DP going to toilet in strange places during the night

We have been together 12 years and lived together for 7.

Of all this time I have never known this to happen.

A week ago I awoke anti him getting out of bed and going to the laundry basket to wee. I screamed and shouted and he stopped eventually but he had a lot of cleaning up in the morning. I was disgusted. He seemed shocked.

Assumed it was a one off odd rare occaision.

Bit tonight I have just awoken to him getting out of bed and pulling his underwear down and sitting on the floor next to the bed.

I shouted and told him to get up.
He talks back saying something about being in the toilet club and they all go together. Can't get any more sense out of him, I tell him to wake up. He says he is awake and so I tell him to better not go to toilet on the floor. He says he won't but takes ages to get up. I asked him why his boxers were down and that he was sitting on the floor? He says nothing and gets up to go to toilet.

I'm feeling disgusted again and quite angry, in spite of there not being an accident happened.

What happens if he does it again and I don't wake up?

What could cause this behaviour?

All the men that I know who are prone to this, always admit it triggered by alcohol , even a tiny amount can cause it, if you are afflicted.

my friend Hamish* suffers from this so avoids drinking, but when he proposed to his girlfriend, her parents(very high society) insisted on throwing a large dinner party, during which a lot of champagne toasts were offered up, Hamish was pressured to partake,

Staying the night in the soon to be in laws rather large manor type house, Hamish fell asleep in a guest bedroom with ensuit ,when he joined the family for breakfast in the morning, there was a very uncomfortable atmosphere,

Hamish new fiancee took him to one side to explain, during the night her parents awoke to find Hamish standing at the end of their bed, he didn't respond to their cries of distress as he peed all over the bed and them, apparently he waved backwards and forwards to gain maximum coverage, then calmly walked back along two corridors, returned to bed and has no memory of the event.

He's forgotten the first rule of toilet club...

Don't talk about toilet club.

My friends DH pissed in the bobbin compartment of her sewing machine after a particularly heavy drinking session.

I am rolling about laughing at poor Hamish.

Op I sleepwalk when I'm stressed and can do very strange things. I don't think there is a solution to it.

I don't remember doing this but I once fell asleep on the couch at a friends house. He told me that I walked into his room in the night shouting at him because the toilet wasn't behind the fireplace. He led me to the loo then back to the couch where he was met with the sight of a strip of wallpaper pulled off the wall. I must have been searching for the loo and ripped the paper off. Blush He was great about it and used to tell people the story. I also gave him the push to redecorate. I've not knowlingly done anything like that since.

My DH headed for the wardrobe to have a pee once. Fortunately I was awake and managed to head him off at the piss pass before he ruined his clothes.

He had been working away for a couple of weeks and his hotel room had had an ensuite in the same relative position as our wardrobe; in his half-asleep state he thought that was where he was staggering.

It was a one-off, but if he'd continued making the mistake I'd have been tempted to acquire a cattle prod for a bit of aversion therapy. Come to think of it, I would have enjoyed it. Smile

Yep-sleep walking.

ds once peed in his hamper, another time in his underwear drawer.

dh has made jam sandwiches-which he would never eat when awake.Confused

Stress makes it worse, you could also encourage him to go to the loo before bed.

This reminds me a guy I was at uni with. He got really drunk one night and got up to pee, but instead of going in the bathroom he stood in the corner of the room and pissed all over his extensive (and extremely precious), comic book collection! He had to throw the whole lot away.

Sounds like it could be a combination of stress and/or drinking. He might want to lay off the booze until after the wedding. I don't blame you for being grossed out - I would be too.
