To ask how much you typically spend on birthday presents for your child's friends?

It was dd's 7th birthday party today, and I am Shock and Blush at how generous some of the presents are. Just wondered how much people typically spend?

I always look out for good bargains for birthdays, so I'm well aware that some things will have been bought on offer etc., but still, some are exceptionally generous. I'm starting to wonder if I am a bit mean. Confused

I normally aim to spend between £5 and £10 for dd's classmates or perhaps up to £12 for a close friend. Is this a bit stingy?

As little as possible! Blush About £5 for nursery friends, up to £15 for closer friends but I always try to bag a bargain and do re-gift too.

Generally I look for the gift to have the value of around £10-£12. However I often get stuff in sales so I probably spend on average around £8 per present. I tend to spend more on best friends, if there's something that is particularly suitable/I know they want, or on fchildren I feel will appreciate something a little more (eg family struggling financially and know they haven't been able to afford much)
