drive thru should ONLY be for coffee, drinks....no food???

Fast food chains, premake most of the food, so I can understand them...

But Tim Horton's?? Their food can't be premade....until order time... Sure makes for HUGE line ups!! To be in a line up just for a coffee... whew, sure glad I just chuckle at those that do!! Grin

JMHO

Just get a box of timbits and go, they should. Although it doesn't take too long to toast a bagel or serve some soup. I think I'll head there tomorrow for timbits for the office

shubiedoo · 07/06/2012 01:29

You mean there are Tim's in the UK? Where do you live?! I'm Canadian :)

HerRoyalNotness · 07/06/2012 01:33

There in one near the Canadian embassy in London apparently

missingmumxox · 07/06/2012 01:37

Hi Mother2many I presume you are in America somewhere as far as I know we don't have Tim Hortons, and line up?? that makes me nostalgic when I lived in the US, and our American Friends used to laugh at we British saying queue, to be honest TH was rubbish as was any fast food we had when we lived there always luke warm and spongy, I thought it ironic the home of fast food was so awful at it, I was glad to get back to the UK, where obviously the fast food was still awful but at least hot.

shubiedoo · 07/06/2012 01:42

Tim's is yummy and way cheaper than Starbucks. Mmm, sour cream glaze!

rustygusset · 07/06/2012 01:48

Mmm, Tim Hortons hot chocolate. Wish we had them in the UK.

lurkedtoolong · 07/06/2012 01:58

There's a Tim Hortons in the UK? am in Canada and have fallen in love b

Mother2many · 07/06/2012 02:09

I live in Canada, but the line ups for their toasted bagels, or their subs, or whatever, take forever..

Timbits, are quick, so are donuts... as they are premade...

I LOVE their hot chocolate too, with whipped cream!... I can't stand their coffee gives, me a severe headache!!

Give me an ice cap (ou un cappuchino glace svp) thank you very much (note how polite I am?) Tim Hortons hot chocolate rocks.

izzyizin · 07/06/2012 03:16

Stands on tiptoe in the UK to wave to all the canucks - I always give you a wave when I'm in Vt in the good ol' U.S of A Grin

There's a Tim Horton's logo on the Spar tiny mini supermarket on the Haymarket in London SW1 (a short walk from Piccadilly Circus) but I reckon the only authentic thing about the coffee is the paper cups - the donuts are ok-ish but they're made somewhere in Europe.

It's rumoured that there's a Tim Horton's somewhere in Canary Wharf... maybe someone knows where to find it?

BadgersRetreat · 07/06/2012 03:36

Evening all! I avoid Timmy's due to the queues...the coffee is just not worth the wait! Hot choc is fair good tho on the way to ski hill. My hips don 't need donuts.

Had no idea there was a TH in ole London town.

Saw this thread title and thought WTF? Haha doesn't take much to confuse me....

izzyizin · 07/06/2012 03:40

It's not a TH as such, Badger. It's a a 'concession' which operates in some Spar supermarkets in the UK and it's limited to coffee and a meagre selection of baked goods.

BadgersRetreat · 07/06/2012 03:41

Ah...hmm not appealing, won't seek them out next time I'm home!

iscream · 07/06/2012 04:26

Today was Send A Kid To Camp Day. All Timmies coffee profits made today went to their camp charity.
To be honest, I am not really a fan of their coffee. I like a dark roasted full bodied coffee. Many people love it though. But we often have lunch there if stopping for a quick bite traveling. Always fresh food and always very clean. They have good soups and I love their bread rolls.

Nandocushion · 07/06/2012 06:06

Tim Horton's is VILE. Worst coffee in the world. Sorry to hear it has polluted London.

Why do you think their food can't be premade? It's just crappy fast food like any other.

iscream · 07/06/2012 07:01

Well, their soup, chili and lasagna are premade. But they make their sandwiches to order.

Ismeyes · 07/06/2012 08:03

Mmmmmmm, timbits.....

Can someone send some down to the south west please? Happy memories of living on timbits when I was a poor student in Canada!

crazycanuck · 07/06/2012 08:18

mmmmmmm honey crullers.......

I got so excited when I saw this thread and thought I'd be able to get my fix! I loved the coffee when I last lived across the pond but I don't think I'd be so keen now as like iscream I prefer dark full bodied coffee. But the timbits and donuts, bring 'em on!

LaurieFairyCake · 07/06/2012 08:22

Could someone please say what a 'timbit' is [confused[

DingbatsFur · 07/06/2012 08:26

We have Tim Horton's in Northern Ireland!! Only in Spars and stuff though, donuts and a limited amount of coffee. Nice taste of home though for this Albertan! Timbits are donutholes.
Waves to other Canadians!!!

WheresMyCow · 07/06/2012 08:26

YABvvvU...for mentioning Tim Hortons when you can't get it in the UK Sad

and crazycanuck YABU for mentioning honey crullers...I love them and you can't get anything that even tastes close in the UK.

Wish I was going visiting now.

WheresMyCow · 07/06/2012 08:30

You can actually get Tim Hortons at one of the petrol stations near to Ikea in Warrington. We went once, and as a PP said I think that the only authentic thing were the coffee cups and the bags for the donuts. They weren't bad, but not like they should be. Was quite gutted that they didn't have timbits Sad

LaurieFairyCake · 07/06/2012 08:31

'donutholes' ?!??!

Isn't that just air? what?

RunsWithScissors · 07/06/2012 08:32

Got very confused, then very nostalgic.

Sigh.

Love timmies! Double double anyone?
