Everything I bloody read or hear at the moment involves popping.

Makes your eyes pop
Pops of colour

Why why why

Who said it first. I demand to know.

But Karma, that's the fashion singular! You can't have 'shoes' or 'pants', that's for normal people.

HeadfirstForHalos · 06/06/2012 19:33

On the fart thread someone used "pop" for farting!

Oooh ooh ooh, Katienana you've just reminded me of some other journo crap mag speak that does my head in - referring to celebs by nicknames such as Ange and Madge.

As if the journo is friends with them and is actually popping in to theirs for tea later to get the inside scoop. And wants us insignificant office job plebeian sheep esteemed readers to feel we can get closer to our idols through them, wow I'm not reading about 'Angelina Jolie' millionaire Oscar winning film star whom I will never ever meet in a thousand years but 'Ange' who also has commitment issues with her scruffy looking boyfriend and also worries about her weight and hair Hmm

Irritating words & phrases (apart from 'pop'):

Trending

Tweet, Tweets, Tweeted, Twitter (Birds tweet. People are not birds.)
Picked up (What, you shoplifted it? No you BOUGHT it ffs!)
Pieces (of a puzzle? Oh, you mean Clothes etc... well say so!!)
Items

Found (NO, bought for £1000s in an expensive antique shop)
Foraged (Go to Tesco idiot)
Pre-loved, Vintage (An excuse to mark up the prices on second-hand goods)
Moving Forward (MOVING BACK AS I DIDN'T FINISH WHAT I WAS SAYING)

I've heard the "make your eyes pop" for a few years now...did it come from the US?

However...the notion of a pop-up emporium was news to me until I walked past one last week. What exactly is that? There didn't seem to be many products inside the emporium Hmm

Latara · 07/06/2012 12:49

Hmm, think i was slightly grumpy last night.

But all those words are still irritating.
People who are over 20 & say 'that's sick' (as in 'that's very good').
I'm not sure that's even particularly current now; but i've heard it said recently.
Sick means ill, vomit, gross NOT good.

Also, 'edgy'. To me 'edgy' means agitated, on the edge of a breakdown. I don't think that's what fashion journalists mean though?
