So, swimming yesterday for about half an hour. When I got out, two of the three cubicles around the edge of the communal area were taken and one was full of clothes. I asked the people in the changing room, not theirs. I checked the shower and toilet area, nobody there. So I went in and got changed.

Halfway through changing, there is a knock on the door. 'Is someone in there, that is my cubicle?'
Me: 'I didn't realise this cubicle belonged to anyone'
Her: 'Were the clothes not a giveaway?'
Now, I am allowed to be sarcy, but don't try it if you are in the bloody wrong!
Me: I checked, this cubicle was not being used, I assumed someone had forgotten to put their stuff in a locker. I'll be done i a minute, or do you want me to pass you your clothes?'

Emerge a few minutes later to a cold, dripping woman with a death stare. She had been in the pool when I got out so was definetaly NOT using the cubicle.

I smiled sweetly and said 'There you go, do remember to put your clothes in the locker next time won't you?' and walked off. At least 3 people in the communal area gave me a little triumphant smile.

Now there are fucking great notices everywhere saying 'DON'T LEAVE STUFF IN CUBICLES' so it was bloody obvious she only did it to reserve herself a cubicle after her swim.

WIBU or was she a selfish, rude, ignorant bitch so and so who deserved a lesson?

And why has this made me so irrationally angry?

Group rooms have no locks and never been more than 3 people in pool is not much used in the day. I always in other pool just go in group area as no family changing rooms. Also clothes in group room does not stop anyone else doing it and others do it. Not seen people leave clothes In cubicles very wrong love all the suggestions. May have to reconsider what I do

bugsy on the face of it, YANBU. However I think even if my pool was always quiet I would still put stuff into a locker if there was one as if people see clothes left out, they think that is ok, and then will do it wherever they go. Also, on the one day that a big group happen to come in, you might find your stuff on the floor!

But I can see why you have been doing this. Until it becomes an issue, it is not one, if that makes sense.

My friends DD's swim at the same time as my DS.

She always leaves the stuff in 2 cubicles. I take DS' poolside.

She thinks I'm mad because doesn't have a cubicle and has to wait and I should 'reserve one as everyelse does'.

She doesn't get that if everyone did't then there are enough cubilcles for all the children having lessons. EG enough for next class to change and vacate before current class exits the pool.

I'm thinking when I go to the loo Wink and put my evil plan into action next lesson hers are the first bags to be removed. Grin

I can't believe someone would actually try to reserve cubicle by keeping clothes there until whenever they decided to finish swim! How rude. excellent work Knowitall! totally the best response ever!

My mum used to work in a leisure centre. Cubicles and family/disabled rooms (used for both) were the bain of her life!

Altho I remember a story about a women with kids ranting at a single older woman using the family room, usual I have family, etc etc you don't! Older woman looked awful and upset. Mum had to quietly, or not so quietly tell her to shut it!!! The older women had had a masectomy and didn't like the communinal changing rooms and had had kids making her uncomfortable.

Really made me realise sometimes we need to realise other ppl have needs too

bibbity I have seen your name pop up on inane threads in the past! And now on this one. The thread obviously entertained you enough to make you read at least the OP Wink

Sorry, but 'I can't see the point of this thread' posts, by people who are clearly bored enough with enough time on their hands to read and post, are another pet hate of mine!

I can't believe society is so full of selfish buggers that there is enough stories to make it 135 posts.

That's sadder Grin
