No

VashtiBunyan · 02/06/2012 09:30

Yes. Free milk, free fruit, free breakfast at a free before school breakfast club.

AmnesiaCustard · 02/06/2012 09:31

No. Parents responsibility to feed children properly.

lazylula · 02/06/2012 09:32

No. Where exactly would all this money come from? As far as I am aware the 12p a day is already subsidised.

Olympia2012 · 02/06/2012 09:32

Er, who would be paying for this??

GrahamTribe · 02/06/2012 09:32

No. No more than I think that all parents should be entitled to child benefit.

Boggler · 02/06/2012 09:33

I live in Wales and Children have milk in school up to year 2, after that nothing. I think it's a shame they don't all get milk but I think it's unlikely to change.

Debs75 · 02/06/2012 09:35

I rememver getting free milk at primary but now i think the emphasis should be more on fruit and veggies. 3 out of my 4 dc's barely touch milk except in cereals and much prefer fruit. Is milk really that good for us anway or just clever marketing?

YES it should be free if provided as should fruit. I do agree it is the parents responsibility to provide a healthy diet for their children but unfortunately some parents disagree and their kids really do miss out, it is good that we have a caring system in place to look after those kids

Misssss · 02/06/2012 09:35

No not at all. Who would be paying for this? I don't think the health benefits of drinking milk are that great too prepares for flaming

Tbh school milk is cheap - it costs about £4.00 a term. Even the most hard up people can afford that if they want their dcs to have breaktime milk.

LeeCoakley · 02/06/2012 09:36

In reception where children can have it free until they are 5, some parents order it but then say that their children don't have to drink it! The waste now is bad enough but free across KS1 it would be astronomical. Parents who are entitled to FSM get it free so that's good enough for me.

rainbowinthesky · 02/06/2012 09:37

What's so great about milk? I hated having to have it at school and although I paid for it for ds, dd didnt want it so didnt inflict this on her at school.

eurochick · 02/06/2012 09:39

No.

LeeCoakley · 02/06/2012 09:39

We've had to buy a bigger fridge for the ones that have milk now, if there was another 200 milks a day our reception area would look like a mortuary Grin
