to not care that "only secure content is displayed"?

A pop up at the bottom of IE keeps telling me this, with a "show all content" button. It slows down the page loading and gets in the way. I can get rid of it, but it reappears on every page! Does anyne know how to get rid of it in general?

Not sure exactly where it is in IE but somewhere in settings there should be an option to tell it what you wan it to do when a page has secure and insecure content.

thanks, I've had a look in some of the specific settings but can't see anything obvious

Just for you Stealth, I'll launch IE and take a look.

Got it, I think:

Internet Options, Security, Advanced tab, all the way at the bottom, uncheck: Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode.

StealthPolarBear · 02/06/2012 08:27

thank you - will see if it works :)

I've often wondered about this. What does it even mean when you get the warning about secure and non-secure content?

I've often clicked both and can't see there is any difference in the content.

Does anyone know when and why I should be using either setting?

FredFredGeorge · 02/06/2012 09:06

It's not the secure/insecure content warning from options, that's to do with a redirect - it's so you don't find yourself on a secure site and then redirected to an insecure one without noticing.

Tools, Internet Options, Security, Internet - Custom Level - "Display mixed content" change that from prompt. Is the one you want for the information bar.

RaPaPaPumPumBootyMum The difference is generally either images - which you would see the difference, or code which is tracking what you do or things like a Facebook Like button. So it's generally best to have it disabled, however when it's images that means you get to miss it.

Thank you will try that. I did look at the option tee mentioned but it was already unticjed - thought I'd posted that but think our internet died

See? I said I knew nothing about IE. Grin

Stealth, switch to Chrome or Firefox. You'll be much happier.

Note: I do not work for Google or Mozilla.
