Aha!!! Bet you thought this would be yet another SAHM vs WOHM bun-fight, didn't you? Didn't you?!! Grin

Before we commence throwing buns, my post is purely in relation to them being a haven of colds unlike any other known to man!!! People told me children pick up lots of colds when they start nursery and/ or school but damn it I didn't believe them!!!

I'm on day 5 of yet another cold which has now subsided to become a delightful phlegm-ridden cough (sorry if TMI), and I've had enough!!

I don't know what the answer is (sheep-dipping all small children in disinfectant maybe? - Joke!), but I hate being ill!!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Right, rant over. Please continue bun throwing as long as they're of the Belgian or cream-filled variety (although even then I wouldn't be able to taste them!)

YANBU. All year I've felt like if it were possible to DIE from the common cold, I'd be gone by now. And YES to the damned lingering cough. The GP said, when I was there about something else, quite calmly, that it's normal to be coughing for 4 weeks after a cold, at which point I sniped that 4 weeks after a cold in this house is 1, 2, and 3 weeks after the next three colds, dammit. .

I want one of those books just for us:
Is that my Mummy? ... no, her shirt is too clean.
Is THAT my Mummy? .... no, her nose is too clear.
Is that my Mummy? ... no, her hair is too stylish ...
...THAT'S my Mummy! ... her cough is so chesty.
speaking for myself only of course :)

and in case it helps anyone I have found this pretty good, better than the commercial cough stuff anyway.

I have yet to experience this joy, as DS has not started at nursery, and never bloody will if I don't get a job but I went to visit one the other day to have a look round, and there was a small boy there with the greenest snot I have ever seen, coming from both nostrils. No bodily fluid should be that vivid in colour. I was genuinely taken aback. It was just so green!! So on that basis YANBU :)

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 01/06/2012 23:42

Snot becomes very prevalent when they go to nursery!

I picked mine as now and again they feed him something naughty, but they love him so much. He jumps for joy when I go in, so I forgive them the odd smartie cookie!

Oh ignore the cookie, I thought for a second I was on the Nursery/Biscuit thread!
