Faces biscuits?
My two little grandchildren live abroad and I take or send Happy Faces biscuits because they love them and the biscuits have become a 'Grandma symbol' (the biscuits not the faces on them).
Can I find them in shops? No. I telephoned every local supermarket - which included all the big ones and none of them stock Happy Face biscuits any more 'because there is no demand'. I e-mailed McVitie's, the manufacturer (can hardly call it a baker, can I?) and they said that shops do not order them any more.
Lots of perseverance and I went to Asda this morning for other things. At the checkout, a supervisor was looking for something else for me (I couldn't find glace cherries - another story) so I nipped to the adjacent biscuit aisle and found guess what? Asda own brand Smileys - exactly what I had telephoned about the previous day when I was told that they do not sell them. I had been asking for Smiley Faces because I couldn't remember the proper name.
I cleared the shelf of the Smiley Face biscuits so my little grandchildren will be thrilled to have a packet now and again.

Is there anything else that Mothers or grandmothers cannot find but know that they are somewhere? When a supermarket says that they do not sell something and we then find it on a shelf, are they lying or do members of staff (colleagues?) just not go and look?
