15 year old lad next door bouncing a football noisily constantly for the last hour or so right by my daughters bedroom window. Would I be unreasonable to ask him to stop given now that it is after half past seven and there is a beautiful green not two minutes walk away where he could bounce til his hearts content and not disturb a soul. My daughter is 6 btw. So would I be unreasonable to ask him to stop?

Not at all!

MrAliTheCat · 29/05/2012 19:42

YANBU! Selfish little git. Tell him to take his ball elsewhere!

Bagofholly · 29/05/2012 19:46

No. I'd have asked him after about, say, 6 bounces. Nicely and kindly though. 15 year olds aren't known for their insights into children's bedtimes.

WorraLiberty · 29/05/2012 19:46

He isn't selfish at all.

It's only 7.30pm and he probably has no idea what time your DD goes to bed.

OP, yes I'd ask him politely with a smile...he might well be mortified to find he's disturbing her.

Thanks for your advice I do find it tricky in summer as while I want my daughter to sleep it is still early in the evening to other iykwim. He has stopped now so removes the need for me to make a decision!!
