Small niggle. Dont like singers called ARTISTS

They do it on the VOICE . Artist can mean many things. SINGER is precise.

I hate people who 'reach' out to me or thank me for 'reaching' out to them, mostly Americans

I hate contestants on X Factor who make that phone to ear/vote for me gesture at the end of their song.

squoosh They aren't considered an artist on whether you or me like them or not lol. If you write, produce etc that makes you an artist. You are involved in the creative process of your music. As Chris Martin does this, he's an artist, maybe not one you like but an artist all the same :)

In the broader sense of artist, ok then he's an artist.

Anyone who describes themselves as an artist tends to be a massive wanker, so I have no problem with people using it willy-nilly. It allows me to make an accurate judgement

Ok, I see adele and Chris Martin referred to as 'artists', but why has no one mentioned jedward? Surely these artists have honed their craft....while on a road trip
