Such a good idea.

I had a nightmare in Sainos yesterday, they had run out of organic Braeburns and my dc don't like Royal Gala.

(trufax).

Only if its big Grin

thatisall · 29/05/2012 20:19

I think it has less to do with the size of ones unit and more to do with how many one possesses Wink

thatisall · 29/05/2012 20:20

is possesses a word lol

Megatron · 29/05/2012 20:20

We don't have a television. We prefer to play parlour games after supper, though I did see one of those terribly large television sets through a common persons window once when I was out excercising the alpacas.

VerityClinch · 29/05/2012 21:20

How many "tellies" (sic) one possesses must be assessed in relation to number of rooms/outbuildings/annexes one possesses.

We have eleven rooms and two "tellies" (spread across one house on three floors and one outbuilding on two).. An elegant sufficiency, I believe. Wink

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 29/05/2012 21:21

at Megatron - Did you take the alpacas for a turn around the little wilderness area near your estate Grin

MissBetsyTrotwood · 29/05/2012 21:23

Is it alpacas that Linda Snell in the Archers has?

WasabiTillyMinto · 29/05/2012 21:26

you dont need to call her Linda Snell in the Archers, just Linda Snell & we will all understand who you mean....well everyone who... counts....

Megatron · 29/05/2012 21:26

Naturally Dances. I let them gambol round the lake while I sit in one of the summer houses with Kirsty Allsop making lovely little trinkets to give our friends as Christmas gifts. I'm making candles at the moment. Such fun.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 29/05/2012 21:33

My DDs and I spend hours and hours baking and icing bags of Christmas cookies and making cards for all their classmates last year. Afterwards I asked them if they enjoyed doing it all and DD1 said "Well yes - but next year can we just buy them at Tesco's like everybody else" Hmm

marriedinwhite · 29/05/2012 22:44

Ooh yes, ten rooms here and only two tellys, one's a drawing room and we have the original tesselated floor in the hall. I also know someone who has a Picasso etching (in the downstairs bog Grin).

Sainos in Putney always has langue de chat biscuits and bath olivers whereas Sainsburys in Wandsworth doesn't.

thatisall · 30/05/2012 00:35

we have four (none in dc's room btw) what does that make us haha?

VerityClinch · 30/05/2012 06:42

marriedinwhite and why are you shopping in Putney Sainsbos when there is a perfectly serviceable Waitrose in the Exchange? Wink

marriedinwhite · 30/05/2012 07:15

verity clinch ooh, are you local? Because the Waitrose is split into two halves, much too crowded and you have to queue for the car park. And, I've lived here since before the Putney Exchange was even built, now the Lacey Road Market was something else!!

But, back to this thread I think it's all about shoes. You can only be middle class if you have a pair of delectable LK Bennett's in your wardrobe Grin

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 30/05/2012 07:28

Morning MC-massive Wink

Time for a Brew - fire up the esspresso machines and french presses. Anyone having instant or who says expresso is asked politely to leave the thread.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 30/05/2012 07:32

married - I am eccentric in my shoes and wear nothing with a heal. But I do have a pair of Fatface plimpsoles and a pair of Cath Kitson plimpsoles. I am in danger of tettering to close to the edge here?

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 30/05/2012 07:32

heal - nice one Blush I mean heel. Clearly.

DancesWithWoolsEnPointe · 30/05/2012 07:33

Bonsoir - that was I typo I promise.

OhdearNigelosaurus · 30/05/2012 07:46

iseenodust you didn't make your own popcorn ? I buy it in waitrose and sprinkle it with sea salt. Dahling

OhdearNigelosaurus · 30/05/2012 07:49

We don't have a telly [trounces all boasting re size of telly]

VerityClinch · 30/05/2012 07:52

marriedinwhite we used to be local, we lived in Fulham. Dragged the toddlers to Gymboree in Putney regularly!

But in January we, in true MC fashion, swapped our outgrown Fulham terrace for Grade II listed beauty in a Kent market town. Which also has a Waitrose, luckily.

OhdearNigelosaurus · 30/05/2012 07:58

We have an amazing tesco near us - it stocks fresh, proper pretzels and an enormous range of ethnic foods (including thai jasmine rice in sacks !).

Queenofsiburbia · 30/05/2012 08:01

Doesn't everyone know it's terribly affected and new money and of course rather non-u to use one's French instead of English, in England? And I thought we were all plu. .

Now, I must put some scent on and check myself in the glass before helping with the church fete on the lawns. Always so terribly busy.

MissBetsyTrotwood · 30/05/2012 08:33

That was just a Freudian slip Dances . You said 'heal' because you were thinking about that lovely sofa you are about to buy from Heals.
