to not let this cat into my house?

Both us and our neighbours are cat owners. Both cats are outdoor cats so can wander pretty much anywhere they want! Recently the neighbours cat has started wandering in and out of our house, eating our cats food and being a real pain in the bum. Now I wouldn't have an issue with chucking it out every time it ventures inside and maybe flicking some water at it. However I do know that our cat spends a lot of time in said neighbours house, most probably eating their cat's food. So AIBU in not letting this cat in our house or should I just accept that we not pretty much have communal cats?

I have three and gained the third one when he walked in through the catflap & made himself at home! He was clearly a stray and 2 years later is the picture of health.

However, a neighbour's cat came in and started bullying mine & I didn't hesitate to spray him with water to get him out!

Don't worry about not wanting it in your house - it is your choice as much as it is your neighbours choice to let your cats in.

Is there any chance of getting a magnetic catflap or one that's tied in to your cat's microchip thing? Only your cat would be able to get in then. Although a friend of mine has a magnetic catflap and her cat comes in, then uses his paw to hold the catflap open so his friends can come in! Grin

So, YANBU!

There's a great big fat tom that invites himself into our house. I've tried chasing him, squirting him, even blocking the catflap (but our traitor cat helps him get it open). Now I've surrendered and he does what he likes. Which is what he was doing anyway.

I find it hard to accept that we have now been outsmarted by a cat tbh!

So long as the cats get on, it could be a good arrangement if one family is going away. Save you a fortune on cattery bills.

I installed an eletronic catflap so now only my 2 cats can get in as it recognises their chips. Job done. Food bill has halved.

Fresh we were looking at getting one of those, but they're really expensive here in Sweden (around £200). Do they work well? We'd pay the money if we knew it'd work, but didn't want to find out the hard way that our cats couldn't get through it.

LOL at Crazy's friend's cat holding cat flap open for his friends :)

I absolutely cannot imagine the Evil Oscar letting any other cat get to his food.
