Dash in a rush, really hurry, or else accident.

That's diarrhoea. Trouble is, I have a problem remembering it without seeing the word first.

squeakytoy · 28/05/2012 10:44

despite working in HR and Payroll for many years, I still struggle to spell Personnel and have to double check it every time..

I run an aerial and satellite company now, and frequently spell both of those wrong as well!

StealthPolarBear · 28/05/2012 10:47

Omelettes?

YouFloatLikeAFeather · 28/05/2012 12:06

Mozzarella always confuses me (the spelling not the actual cheese as that would just be weird)

shewhowines · 28/05/2012 12:12

spaghetti?

confusedpixie · 28/05/2012 12:16

Freud gets me every time. I just sent an essay about him to my tutor last night having forgot to spellcheck and the eu/ue was a disaster!

TheGravyTrain · 28/05/2012 12:18

Up until I was about 20 I had to say 'big elephants can't always use small escalators' to myself or I couldn't spell 'because'. My mum drilled I into me when I was young and struggled with spelling it and I just couldn't shake it off.

I opened this thread expecting a thread about pooing out broccoli. And yet I still opened it! I think I need to sort my life out.

I always get mixed up with licence and license, never know which one to use and spellcheck is no help since they're both words.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 28/05/2012 12:37

Judging by common errors on message boards.... 'loose' and 'lose', 'hungry' and 'hungary', 'counsellor' and 'councillor'... have to be near the top.

Buckingfiatch · 28/05/2012 12:38

INeverFinishAnythi, I also thought the same and also opened it Hmm

I am a weirdo though...

toofattorun · 28/05/2012 12:39

I struggle with broccoli but I spell diarrhea like this.

BigBoobiedBertha · 28/05/2012 12:42

Is broccoli hard then? Never had a problem. The d word (which seems to have beens spelt several ways on this thread so I don't want to copy) yes that is a toughie.

I would add stationary/stationery to Cogito's list.

MissTapestry · 28/05/2012 12:45

Bolognaise/ bolognese? Mmm, I'm Hungary now Wink

Swatchdog · 28/05/2012 12:46

INeverFinishAnythi - I think about advice/advise when using licence/license or practice/practise - the use of the c or s is the same as with advice/advise, so as they're pronounced differently it helps!

I too am confused at why I would want to rad a thread about pooing broccoli.

Sweetcorn on the other hand is a classic

LadyRabbit · 28/05/2012 12:54

I could never spell diarrhoea without looking it up in the dictionary until I had a toddler. Now it's one of my most used words. Grin
