I need to have a rant.
I am six months preg.
I had a third degree tear last time, which caused problems.
Baby is now getting heavier.
I have a cough.
I AM the Tena lady personified, and will be Pampers-for-adults lady by September.

I am now just getting a bit cheesed off with it all!!!!!!!!!

And your probably hot too...

I feel for you op I really do Sad

Congrats on the pregnancy though Grin

TheGrandOldDuke · 27/05/2012 20:04

Thanks LST, the heats not too bad actually. Surprisingly.

No one talks about the incontinence after childbirth...or maybe it really is just me??? Feels like it!

It's not just you. I still use Tena Lady and my youngest child is 5. My sympathies. Have you seen a specialist gynae Physio?

TheGrandOldDuke · 27/05/2012 20:11

Yeah, 'drink less water' 'do your pelvic floor exercises' nothing inspiring or that seems to make a difference. I'm quite resigned to it, and it's fine normally, but pregnancy has made it almost comical. My husband is now used to the dash to the loo that follows a sneeze or cough, and I did comtemplate using my sons travel potty when out for ten mins earlier....
It's not glamourous this Mummy lark.

Bless you
If I was you I would be saving for a 'designer' vagina op once the baby has been born I bet it's been hell since your 1st baby was born

TheGrandOldDuke · 27/05/2012 20:36

I've got used to it, and have ways and means around tricky situations day to day.
I am interested in surgery but concerned they may make it worse rather than better...have heard it can be risky down there!

Worse thing is, and this is TMI, but I am PARANOID about it, I'm sure I stink of wee :-(

I wash A LOT.

Book an appointment with a post natal physio. They are very experienced in damaged pelvic floors and leaky ladies.

mummywizz · 27/05/2012 21:44

gosh there's soooo much help out there, don't put up with it it;s not normal! for a start you need a referral to a urogynaecologist who I'm sure would recommend a section to protect your pelvic floor from any further damage, you need to see a physio that specialises in the pelvic floor asap, and yes pelvic floor exercisies DO work if you do them correctly and often enough! there's alot of research to prove it. think of your pelvic floor as just another muscle I mean do you get firm thighs just cos you went to the gym once or twice, no of course not

surgery is only an option for you if you;ve completed your family after this baby, and then make sure you see a 'urogynaecologist' and have all the necessary bladder function test first
good luck with everything

My favourite Hmm pregnancy memory with DS1 was dashing upstairs to be sick (hyperemesis), and peeing on the floor as I barfed!

No useful advice, just wanted to share
