I need a wee.
I have raging SPD (with 26 weeks still to go!!)
I only went an hour ago but need to go again.

Need I say more?!

YADNBU. We have a downstairs loo, it was a godsend when DH managed to fall over and crack the cistern in the upstairs one (with his head).

WaitingForMe · 25/05/2012 20:17

It was the first thing I checked after number of bedrooms whenever we received house details.

rhetorician · 25/05/2012 20:17

YANBU - wish we had, or had put one in when we did extension. It would be particularly helpful (1) with potty/toilet training and (2) if you have more than one child, having a shouty toddler yelling 'I've done a poo' does not make for conducive baby settling.

So get one...(will also be handy when you are decrepit and can't be bothered to go upstairs)

Y A D N B U!

It is an ESSENTIAL when house-hunting.

PeppaTwig · 25/05/2012 20:19

Thanks everyone. I will tell suggest to DH that it goes on the wishlist! :o

Yes, we found out just how essential when dd smashed her leg, pins and plates everywhere, plaster from toes to top of thigh. With steep twisty stairs there was no way she was going to get upstairs. She was 9 and a hefty nine. Never was I so grateful that we had downstairs facilities including a shower we had never used in the utility room. Phew!!

TiaMariaandDietCoke · 25/05/2012 20:48

YADNBU!! It wasn't on our list, but our new house has one and its a godsend! Don't know how we coped without it (and we don't even have our own DCs yet!!)

keepingupwiththejoneses · 25/05/2012 20:54

YADBU not just for now but for when you LO is here. The benefits of a downstairs loo are massive especially at the toilet training stage. I want one Sad

fortifiedwithtea · 25/05/2012 20:56

YANBU. Had terrible SPD with 2nd pg. Had to wee in a pint glass. We moved when DD2 was 16 months. Essential with 2 DD.

MrsLetch · 25/05/2012 21:04

YANBU.

I have never, and would never buy a house without a downstairs loo. Essential in my book.

CaliforniaLeaving · 25/05/2012 22:36

We need a house with two loos, I don't care if they are up or downstairs, we are on one level at the moment. Nothing more annoying than kids knocking on the door wanting to poo when I'm in the shower. So two loos are a must.

TheSkiingGardener · 25/05/2012 22:46

We have 4 loos.

Not one of them is on the same floor as the living room/dining room/kitchen.

We're about to start potty training, but I have deliberately waited until DS has some kind of warning time that he needs the loo purely because we will have to get up/downstairs

cabbagesoup · 25/05/2012 22:48

does it count if it's your only bathroom!!!
