To want to go to the Fat Duck for my 40th

Its not for a couple of years but we'll probably have to start saving now. I'd really like to go but I feel hubby isn't too keen, & it's a lot of money to spend if you're not going to enjoy it.
My husband wants us to have a joint 40th party instead, but my birthday is in July & his isn't until December so I don't really think this is doable.

I think that if you can afford it you should go. However in the OP, both her and her DH turn 40 that year, and they will need to save to eat at the Fat Duck. So surely if they need to save for a couple of years, its not in their price range and will also mean that they may not have the money to do something equally extravagant for her DH.

Sorry OP, I don't think you could justify it, unless you could save the equal value for both of you, and let your DH do what he likes for his 40th too.
