AIBU to have become a nagging mum?

DD (11) is off on her year 6 leavers residential trip tomorrow at stupid-o-clock.

This evening, we are packing. Or rather, I am. I have tried talking her through the process - what will you need to change into for the evening, what will you need to get ready for bed, what will you wear in bed yada yada yada - but it's going in one ear and out of the other.

She has no concept of weather appropriate clothing, forgets to drink so gets dehydrated and leaves her belongings scattered behind her like confetti.

Now I've turned into a nagging witch trying to emphasis what she needs to think about over the next two days. AIBU? Blush

I am guessing every parent of children going will be having the same conversation tonight, and every child will have forgotton within 10 minutes of arriving everything they have been instructed. Don't be suprised in the wash bag comes back in the same state as it went in!!

But, the staff will make sure that they eat, drink, aren't wearing shorts in the cold weather etc so don't worry about it!

Annoying aren't they. Ds went away with the school for a week and came back with everything still neatly packed, even the soap was still in the packet. The smell was so bad I made him strip in the garage next to the washing machine and head straight in the shower. He did however eat and drink, just no washing or changing clothes at all Blush

YANBU... Whenever I have to nag repeatedly remind DS about something vitally important and I get the 'but Mum...' treatment I tell him 'I'm your mother. Nagging is my job'. :)
