Commercial party bags

Attended a party where commercial party bags are given to the children. DD's bag contained hair bobbles, tacky plastic bracelet, charm and stickers. Ds's contained really cool toys including a yo-yo.
AIBu to expect party bag manufacturers to at least include some toys in girl's party bags.
My dd's hair is too short to tie back for a start.

Reading this I think I went overboard last month for DS whos 10s party bags. I bought boxes from Ebay and filled them with a bouncy ball, a whoopie cushion keyring, a dinosaur pencil and notepad, some balloons, sweets, a homemade giant dinosaur cookie and of course the cake at the end.

Certainly does, one way of ensuring your kids don't get too many party invites!

One year my 7 year old wanted to invite the whole class (we were moving away from the area soon afterwards - normally restricted to about 6), we couldn't afford fancy partybags for everyone so I trawled round every shop I could find in the sales and did a lucky dip (nothing more than 50p) it went down a treat.

ooh- I like the lucky dip idea - makes it a bit of a game too rather than just handing things out.
