To blame the dog?

For eating a 4 pack of double deckers?

I've already eaten two and a freddo, DH has left me on my own for a few hours, so an evening of mumsnet, relaxing and eating chocolate is on the cards. However I would feel slight guilt at eating 4 chocolate bars as DH hasn't had a look in. So would IBU to eat them all, rip up the wrappers and scatter them on the floor, to make it look as though the dog is the guilty party?

Please remember when replying that DH has left me on my own and it is all his fault!

Don't scatter them on the floor. That would be too obvious as you would surely have cleared them up.

Leave them in the dog bed

unless you have a gundog in which case hide the wrappers completely as they don't usually bother to remove wrappers Grin

It would be too obvious that the dog is not guilty if I put them in the dog bed, he likes to eat them where he finds them. DH isn't due home till after 11 so if I scatter I can pretend the dog has done it after I have gone to bed.

I would leave just a tiny bit of the wrapper in the dog's bed and when your DH comes in accuse him! He then will logically deduce it is the dog and be grateful to you for believing him. Win win.

TheMonster · 21/05/2012 21:47

No! Your dog would be really, really sick if he'd eaten that much chocolate and your DH might panic and rush him to the vet.

CheshireDing · 21/05/2012 21:47

YABU because what if DH then thinks the poor dogs stomach needs pumping after all that chocolate ? Grin

YANBU eating them all youself, DH asked me what I had eaten today. Answer - 2 Snickers, 4 large white chocolate cookies, 4 pieces of toast.

DH tried to blame the dog for moving his wellies tonight from the bit of carpet we put shoes on to the other end of the hall, and placed them upright next to each other "apparently" Hmm

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 21:48

convict I like your style

HeidiHole · 21/05/2012 21:48

No your DH might shout at the dog!

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 21:49

The dog will be fine , after 15 years of stealing chocolate he is immune to the effects.

wonders if I am the only one who thought from the title that you had trumped and blamed it on the dog Grin

YANBU for eating it, and if he says you are say he was BU for leaving them alone in your presence.
Won't blame the dog incase he worries about it.

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 21:50

The dog's deaf!

*wouldn't

HoneyDragonWearingLederhosen · 21/05/2012 21:52

Deny them ever being in the cupboard. Gaslight him into believing you never even bought them.

anniemcphee · 21/05/2012 21:52

I ment your DH would worry not the dog....

RightBuggerforit · 21/05/2012 21:54

YABU - poor doggy! Text the oh that you've eaten all the chocolate, and get him to go the shop and get some more on his way home!

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 21:54

They were left in a bag on the floor in the kitchen, so it was his own stupid fault Grin. There is also a packet of buttons and twirl bites WIBU to eat them as well?

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 21/05/2012 21:57

Jeez 4 double deckers and a freddo bar is about 1300 calories alone isn't it? Shock

EXmrsmascarahead · 21/05/2012 21:59

Calories? What are they? I'm sure that they don't apply to chocolate!

OP posts:
MrsMuddyPuddles · 21/05/2012 21:59

no, text to say that you forgot to buy the chocolate! :o
