Just that really. Dh and I were out in a coffee shop yesterday and a couple at a table opposite us had tea and scones. The woman sat down first and started to eat her scone with a knife and fork
.
I noticed her Dp's scone had a knife and fork next to it, so Dh and I waited to see if he would do the same when he sat down. He picked up the knife and fork, but then looked over at our table, saw how we were eating our scones, and followed suit. The woman ate the whole scone with a knife and fork and seemed to disapprove that her DP didn't follow suit.
Now, apart from a WTF? at making a meal out of a scone, a few things crossed my mind - maybe she just likes eating scones like that. Maybe in some parts that's the ways its done (first time I've seen it though), maybe she has an eating anxiety and this helps (although she had a slice of cake afterwards and ate it with her fingers, so maybe not)
Anyone seen this sort of unusual eating habit before? Am I just vair common for not knowing I should use a fork? (and before the flaming starts, this is supposed to be lightheated!!
)
