Got tickets to the Olympics whoop whoop and all that allowed to take baby as a babes in arms whoop whoop

Now it says on the web site that you can only take 100ml of water um I need to bring cooled boiled water in my flask to make baby's bottles and I will need a dam site more than 100ml

I rang up to day to ask about this and the lady on the phone was just said oh we hadn't really thought about that she asked if I couldn't use water from the water fountain clearly she didn't have a child Confused

I did ask if one inside the park one of the food outlets would let me have it but was told due to Health and safety it was doubtful ffs

If they won't provide boiled water then they need to let people with baby under 1 to bring as much boiled water as needed ffs

They are trying to minimize foreign substances (you know it's water but it could just as easily be petrol) and maximize profits for the vendors, how old will baby be and how long will you be there for?

piprabbit · 19/05/2012 20:28

Would pre-made cartons of formula be allowed?

Hulababy · 19/05/2012 20:29

Do you think you could order tea without the tea bag in it, but on the side?

BerthaTheBogBurglar · 19/05/2012 20:31

"Baby food, baby milk and sterilised water are allowed into venues but must be carried in containers with a maximum capacity of 1 litre per baby"

So you can take as much boiled water as you like, in 1L bottles.

But I'm so glad I didn't get tickets! Bet the queues at those free water fountains are a mile long.

BerthaTheBogBurglar · 19/05/2012 20:33

Hmm, is that 1L per baby or 1L per container? It says each container must have a max capacity or 1 litre, doesn't it, grammatically speaking, but I bet they meant 1L per baby.

Mrbojangles1 · 19/05/2012 20:34

piprabbit I was told only 100ml if it's a liquid

We are their for a couple of hours and it's making sure we also have water for bottles on the journey back it could take a up to two hours to get back all in all it's at least 3 bottles.

Hula baby. No guarantee they will give me enough water

YANBU

but...

Rather than ranting here, write a calm sensible letter to whichever department you spoke to. Explain why cooled boiled water is important. Be clear but also constructive (eg explain roughly how much you would bring with you, suitable container, suitable check that it is for a baby eg water has to come in with baby).

squeakytoy · 19/05/2012 20:37

I know plenty of mothers who will feed their child a bottle that is room temperature or even straight from the fridge, it still lands in the stomach at the same temperature anyway... just make up the bottles before you go and it will be fine.

Mrbojangles1 · 19/05/2012 20:40

squeakytoy it's not about it being water it's about it being liquid that's the issue

OP posts:
ihearttc · 19/05/2012 20:40

Why don't you just get some cartons of formula for that day?

Mrbojangles1 · 19/05/2012 20:43

ihearttc because it says they won't allow any liquids over 100ml

LadyWidmerpool · 19/05/2012 20:45

Don't you need hot water to kill the bugs in the powder, which isn't sterile?

diedandgonetodevon · 19/05/2012 21:02

As Bertha posted:
"Baby food, baby milk and sterilised water are allowed into venues but must be carried in containers with a maximum capacity of 1 litre per baby"
That will include cartons of ready made formula so as long as your baby is not fussy about temperature then just take cartons, that's what we shall be doing.

AKMD · 19/05/2012 21:09

Just take cartons Confused Making up bottles with powdered milk and cold water is a bad idea.
