PTA to me means parent and teacher association, is that what you're talking about?

thatisall · 19/05/2012 03:31

pta money, hasn't that been raised for the school? or the PTA? I think you need to give more information with your question. In any case, surely PTA money has been raised for a purpose and must be spent for that purpose and surely you use get permission from the rest of the pTA before it is spent.

More importantly than the money, I am so very sorry for your loss. x

Yes. She was a very good fundraiser and so many parents have been upset. Just thought it would be nice for her to be remembered

I your friend was an avid fundraiser for the PTA, I would hold an event in her honour.
In my experience PTA money is spent on schools, parents, children and communities. If thats was she tirelessly fundraised for then Im sure that's where she would want the money to go, no?

I hope you are ok OP

Our money is raised for the school but at the end of the year we like to make a small charitable donation

well then maybe it would be appropriate, still something to check with rest of PTA xx

evergreentrees · 19/05/2012 04:05

Will of course check with all pta members but didn't want to make a big thing about it. She was a great fundraiser but very humble too. I miss her and so sad for those left behind

As long as the PTA decides in a proper quorate minuted meeting to make the donation in her name, I can't see the problem.

Never before heard of a PTA that had enough money to donate to other charities!

How about an end of year award named after her? Or something in tge school grounds?
