Do you actually pay attention to the advertisements? I'm seriously considering advertising my business on Mumsnet but I'm wondering whether it's worth the cost when our 2-woman start-up company is struggling with cash-flow.

Pls advise me, oh wise women!

You don't see any apart from a just giving one on the app.

The government should apply a "child labour tax" on such cheap clothes to bring the prices in line with the going rate. Then they would make millions that could be spent on hospitals and services, and bettering the lives of those children, and the "cheap clothing" would lose its appeal as it wasnt so cheap.

hello guys , should i pay to advertise on Mumsnet for my small business?

DeathByWalkies · 09/08/2021 10:54

As a fellow small business owner, I'm pretty sure you'd get more bang for your buck from well targeted adverts on social media.

Years ago I worked for a large, well known university. We wanted to do more engagement with parents of prospective applicants. We looked at the cost of advertising on MN and it was far beyond our budget for the project. It's incredibly expensive.

Depends on the type of business, target market, budget, price point, profit point, ROI for similar campaigns etc.

I'd say no, put the money into social media / SEO / blogging, but as that's my business, I would say that :)

If you read this whole thread there are some good ideas within it - I know it's quite old but they still count (direct mail / PR / press releases).

I deliberately ignore them, and if I notice them, I won't use their products

I don’t think there’s enough information to give you advice here.

I have used advertising on MN before. It is expensive but on a high end luxury product it worked very well. I think in order to really know if this is the place for you, it’s important to get a sense of your goals. There might be less pricey ways to meet them.

Most of MN seems to be in marketing, though, and we will likely all have differing opinions on what works and what doesn’t!
