Sorry but I just don't care! I don't want tbe hassle of being taken over by all this.

My office was already taken over sharing lifts with olympics workers. Now I dread getting to hospital for a c/s in central London on the day of the opening ceremony.

You are entitled to feel how you like, but let others rejoice in this if they wish! My kids are into sport, and the fact that this world class event is happening in our lifetime on our doorstep (well not really- we live in Scotland!) is a tremendous opportunity for them to be inspired by the best in their fields. We made the decision early on to spend our holiday time and budget on the trip to London and the tickets and we can't wait. I would rather die than go to Disneyland or a beach in Majorca for my holidays- so each to their own!!

I think that's great for your dcs 3 nations. I can see how it's an exciting time and I'm sure if I was outside of London it wouldn't bug me so much but being here it's just all sooooo urgh.

I also can't believe 40000 went to see the Stratford stadium being opened, with no fireworks or anything major?!

I have no interest at all,but my daughter is volunteering and very excited about it. I am however more concerned at what its going to cost her to be part of it with the huge hike in hotel prices everywhere in the London area and even more closer to the stadiums where she really needs to be as some of her shifts don't finish until after midnight.
