to consider having another baby because my children have asked me to?

Currently have 4 DCs, from 2-7 yrs old. The older two have said they'd really like us to have another. We'd decided 4 was enough. Should we reconsider?

thanks all for those comments - have been offline for a while and hadn't realised so many people would have so much to say :)

Holycamera - thanks for making the distinction between re-considering my decision based on their opinion, and having one because they have asked (told??! mynewpassion) me to have one...

bogeyface - thank you :)

I am well aware (esp having 4 already) that children are not just for Christmas or something to indulge a whim. And my children are aware of that too. The decision to stop at 4 was based on just those considerations. But since they're keen, it got me thinking about whether we'd made the right decision.

Still not sure... I certainly won't be letting them tell me what to do - but I will be continuing to allow them to have a voice in our family.

Your eldest is 7. How 'aware' of such matters can a 7-year-old be?

It wasnt classy was it? But having been on the end of "you get more money each child you have" type comments, it does piss me off a wee bit, especially as I dont!

And Where, 7 year olds do understand, especially if they are already part of a larger than average family. My 6 year old understands why we cant have #7, far better than many adults do.
