Because it is is WRONG and more than a bit boaky?

FFS you're only saving about 0.00001 of a second by spelling a four-letter word with three letters. Saving 0.00001 of a second and making yourself look a fool.

AIBU?

No I am not thanks for agreeing.

AmnesiaCustard · 10/05/2012 15:40

It's Latin for "with", isn't it?

HipHopOpotomus · 10/05/2012 15:41

Havingaminutespeace · 10/05/2012 16:44

YADNBU. Changing the spelling of 'I'll come later' to the other spelling (see, can't even bring myself to type it! Grin COMPLETELY changes the meaning to something totally different!

I am in my 30s and cum def meant semen back in the day

GiserableMitt · 10/05/2012 16:53

'dat' and 'dis' piss me off no end.

On a lighter note, years ago (not in UK) I won an appliance which was labelled:

Rice cooker
cum steamer.

The childish part of me made DH take a photo of me holding it.

happyfeet11 · 10/05/2012 17:10

Generally Yanbu. However, it is sweet when it is written by your 5 year old dd!

TalcAndTurnips · 10/05/2012 18:34

I remember a teacher showing me some unaided writing that DD1 had done in Reception (this was 17 years ago now Shock).

She had made some valiant phonic attempts at lots of words - the best being cunt for couldn't.

DD1 wasn't listening - teacher and I piddled ourselves laughing.

I bet that Nicky Pembleton Jones uses that word in midnight texts to her boyfriend.

It is such a strangely sexless word. Like grant bovey.

NoVeggiesBeforeEggies · 10/05/2012 18:53

I saw an advert earlier, someone selling a 'sofa cum bed'

I am talking shite aren't I?

TidyDancer · 10/05/2012 18:58

I don't like the word/spelling, but at least it's not as bad as gawjus. It makes me want to strangle someone just typing that.

picnicbasketcase · 10/05/2012 19:01

Shouldn't be used like 'cum ova 2 yourz hun'

Shouldn't be used like 'cum on my face'

All in all a horrible word. It looks dirty and gloopy.

pointythings · 10/05/2012 19:04

Hate that word .

YADNBU

FarloRigel · 10/05/2012 19:05

YANBU. Hate hate hate this!

TheVermiciousKnid · 10/05/2012 19:10

This is actually a correct use (the only correct use as far as I'm concerned!) of the word 'cum' - it means 'with' in Latin. So in this case it means a sofa that's also a bed.

orangeandlemons · 10/05/2012 19:16

I saw it spelt with a K. On a personalised number plate. As in "I KUM". On a blue metallic sports car, driven by some dick in shades.

I was nearly sick

NoVeggiesBeforeEggies · 10/05/2012 19:21

I know it's correct but at the mental image. Envy
