In what capacity can it be used for just biscuit? Hoe often could it be used?!

frowniefuckingface · 09/05/2012 21:51

Ooh I should have elaborated, I meant that at the bottom of the page where the smileys are listed biscuit was biscuit not no comment or am I imagining things?

squeakytoy · 09/05/2012 21:54

I always thought it meant "shut up you twat" Grin

Emjxxx · 09/05/2012 22:06

I always thought it meant put that in you pie hole and be quiet! (or biscuit hole)

LowFlyingBirds · 09/05/2012 22:08

It was originally in reference to the non-event that was gordon brown biscuit-gate nonsense.

RobinSparkles · 09/05/2012 22:09

It's always been No Comment but it's rarely used as that.

It's usually "shut up and have a Biscuit".

I've never actually used it - this will be my first time I've ever put it in a post! :o

Yay I've popped my Biscuit cherry!

frowniefuckingface · 09/05/2012 22:09

I know what it means in MN terms on a thread but has this:

Smileys list
Smiley face: Smile or :)
Big grin: Grin or :o
Wink: Wink
Shocked: Shock
Sceptical: Hmm
Confused: Confused
Embarrassed: Blush
Angry: Angry
Sad: Sad or :(
Envious: Envy
No comment: Biscuit
Wine glass: Wine
Hot beverage: Brew
Flowers: Thanks

changed as in has biscuit always been no comment?

OP posts:
RobinSparkles · 09/05/2012 22:12

It's always been no comment. I didn't see the Gordon Brown thingy and when it appeared I remember thinking, "biscuit for no comment? That doesn't make sense!" Confused

LowFlyingBirds · 09/05/2012 22:18

Think the general gist of it was a baffled no comment, but what do i know ivenever used it

LowFlyingBirds · 09/05/2012 22:20

Oh i see...no i dontknow if it has always been tagged as 'no comment' have a feeling it didnt used to say that though.

RoxyRobin · 09/05/2012 22:20

In my ignorance I associated it with the expression 'That takes the biscuit!', to be used after a poster had said something particularly annoying or unreasonable. 'No comment' seems a bit flabby by way of a response.

frowniefuckingface · 09/05/2012 22:22

That's what I mean LowFlyingBirds I swear it used to say something else. I just cant remember what Confused.

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 09/05/2012 22:30

Grin

RoxyRobin · 10/05/2012 00:39

But I am foxy!

Starwisher · 10/05/2012 00:45

I assumed it meant " you have really taken the biscuit now" as in you have gone too far, so no comment.

MaryPorter · 10/05/2012 00:46

I always thought it was

Biscuit =. Friday night topic.

Byecklove · 10/05/2012 03:38

Yep, it definitely did say 'biscuit'.

I know because I had to check

Roxy I thought that too! Are you sure we aren't right? Makes sense to me...

Thumbwitch · 10/05/2012 03:53

It was created in response to Gordon Brown refusing to tell us what his favourite biscuit was when he did a live webchat prior to the last General Election. So it stands for "no comment" - aka "I really can't be bothered to answer such a trivial and nonsensical question".
