to think there seem to be lots of threads being started purely for the purpose of being judgey atm?

I don't know. It just feels like there's a lot of pointing and sneering on here at the moment and it makes uncomfortable reading.

(yes I know, I could just not read those threads)

I know, you are right but we all do it, and sometimes its fun

CallMeAl · 09/05/2012 10:55

there always has been. Small minds with little to fill them, and an audience of willing judgers. Why wouldn't they?

TheVermiciousKnid · 09/05/2012 10:56

But ... are you not being judgey of judgey threads!? Shock

Grin
nickelhasababy · 09/05/2012 10:57

Judgy is as judgy does Grin

flowery · 09/05/2012 10:58

And nickelbabe!

Yes indeed, this is a judgey thread! But not pointy and sneery...

BumpingFuglies · 09/05/2012 11:00

Tis now! Grin

SodoffBaldrick · 09/05/2012 11:00

Some of them are very piss-take-y, though.

The photos on walls one was taken way, waaaay too seriously by most people.

BumpingFuglies · 09/05/2012 11:04

Didn't see that one Baldrick - what was the gist?

flowery · 09/05/2012 11:09

This isn't about any thread in particular so I don't know. I'm sure some of them might be meant to be piss-takey but I don't think all of them are, and I also don't think that's always clear, or entirely true.

I don't know. Just feels as though there have been loads of threads in that vein recently and I don't think it's MN at it's finest.

Well, it's a public forum! Maybe avoid the thread you don't like the sound of.

Does it really affect your day to day life if someone is judgemental on a message board? Hmm

ItsAPublicForumWhine · 09/05/2012 12:45

YANBU.

HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 12:46

It seems to be a superiority thing on here. If you don't judge you are apparently incredibly superior and a wonderful person. If you do judge then you are a bag of shite destined to go to hell

flowery · 09/05/2012 13:54

No it doesn't affect my day to day life, no Hexagonal and I didn't realise that was a criteria for starting a thread about something. Feel free to judge me Grin

It's just an observation. yes of course I can avoid/hide those threads.

I'm not saying anyone is superior or the opposite for judging or not judging. We all do it a bit, and that's fine with me. But it feels as though MN has become more like that recently, perhaps I'm wrong. But that's what it feels like, and I just think it's a shame.

OP posts:
HexagonalQueenOfTheSummer · 09/05/2012 14:32

I wasn't aware I mentioned a criteria for starting threads, flowery. Grin Of course, start a thread about whatever you wish but be prepared to be judged Wink

I haven't noticed a change on here tbh; there's always been those that judge a lot, those that judge a bit and those that say they never ever judge and that everyone that does is wrong and bad and awful and...

flowery · 09/05/2012 14:38

Trust me I have no problem being judged for starting the thread - the title was asking for it really! Grin

Maybe it's not any worse than it was. I certainly wouldn't claim never to judge (and anyone who does is lying imo!). I definitely do, and I don't judge those who judge as such. I guess I'm judging those who start a public thread solely for the purpose of pointing a finger at people who do/don't do something completely unimportant.

Hide aibu from your active convos then (you can do this in customise), i do this from time to time when the aibu threads start to wind me up!

Hullygully · 09/05/2012 14:43

yes no yes no yes no yes no

plus ca change

Kendodd · 09/05/2012 14:43

What is wrong with a little judging?

You know we all love it do it.

ItsAPublicForumWhine · 09/05/2012 14:44

those that say they never ever judge and that everyone that does is wrong and bad and awful and...

I've not seen anyone that does this!

FoofyShmooffer · 09/05/2012 14:45

Isn't there always?Grin

madmomma · 09/05/2012 14:47

Oh I wish I got upset by judgy threads.

MyMelody · 09/05/2012 14:47

I'm not finding aibu too bad at the moment, I think it depends on my frame of mind. A lot of recent threads have been very tongue in cheek. Theres too many wedding threads at the moment though!

Aibu really annoyed me a while back when there were loads of money threads 'aibu that dh earns £1 billion per year and we are still broke' type ones!
