to not like sharing a hotel room with anyone other than my DH and DC?

I know it may make me a bit weird but I really don't like sharing hotel rooms with family/friends - I like my own space Grin

I am a private person and feel really awkward when sharing small spaces (and going to the toilet etc) when with someone else.

Am going on my DSis's hen do tomorrow and sharing a hotel room with her tomorrow night and I feel uncomfortable about it. Also, 2 of my colleagues/friends are asking about sharing a family room on our Christmas Do and I just want to scream no but realise that would make me seem odd Hmm

Am I the only one who feels like this?

I hate it too. When we go away with friends there is one other person and I always have our own rooms, we just book however many shared rooms and 2 singles then pay accordingly.

I had to share a bed on a hen do with someone I'd never met before . She was perfectly lovely but I didn't sleep a wink.

I hate it too.
I am on a hen weekend tomorrow night and just paid the extra so I could have a room to myself.

YANBU. I'm being a bridesmaid in August and during hen night discussions have already said that one advantage of a hotel over a cottage is that we can choose how many rooms to get "so that those like me with kids getting them up in the night can get a room on their own and luxuriate in sleeping for 9 hours straight."

You don't even want to share with your own sister?

Well, YANBU to feel the way you do, although it wouldn't and doesn't bother me.

My ideal hotel room has just me in it Grin. I often wake up early and hate lying in bed unable to do anything for hours. I have invested in a new kindle cover with a light in for just that reason. And as for the bathroom .

It does tend to discourage people when I say I might well wake them up at 5. Usually a winner.

I am the same.
In fact, I would prefer a room of my own ALL THE TIME, not just when away.

Just love my own space.
