To serve Muslim guests on a Halal salami pizza?

Salaam Alaikum to our Muslim sisters. Not looking to debate the pros and cons of Islam so please no hijacks. Straight question-vegetarian pizza dough with mozzarella and Halal salami, cooked in a tray that has been used for all sorts in a non-Muslim household. acceptable to Muslim guests or not? A champagne toast for the birthday girl where you are given sparkling apple juice and invited to join in- OK or would you prefer to sit in the living room while we do that in the dining room? The lady in question is a very dear friend and it is very important to me tat she be made welcome and feel comfortable. I have no wish to debate whether that's the "right" thing, I only want to know the best way to do this. Thanks. Shukran. Shukryah.

Grin Can't believe nobody else has picked up on the title in the typo.

I think you would be VU to serve your guests on the pizza. How would you fit them in the oven? They'd never go crispy!

So, the pizza went well and my friend took the remaining salami home to make a pizza for her sons. She was offered the choice to sit out the toast and decided to join in. She was really pleased that we tried so hard to make her comfortable. My daughter now has the most beautiful handmade shalwar kameez which my friend made just for her. So, a great time had by all!

I should have put 'kosher meat' in my last post actually to be accurate. I do use kosher labelling to my advantage for fish (scales) and for products that I think are veggie (mars bars Wink). I live in north London so there are alot of jewish busnesses and the supermarkets stock kosher products, before we lived here it wasn't something I was aware of at all and I didn't even recognise the symbol!

While we're on the subject, my ex pat American friend wants kosher pickles but can only get them online. We live on Teeside. Any ideas?

Do you think they have veggie or at least non prk gelatine Haribos too, please? My non Muslim friend helpfully said to me, "oh, M and S are doing veggie Percy Pigs now.". I had to explain that there might be another issue with that!

DrSeuss · 10/05/2012 15:41
