to drop pizzas to a friend?

I was expecting a friend with her two (preschool) children for a play and dinner this afternoon. She has had to cancel because DS2 has been admitted to hospital (doesn't sound too serious, and they are hoping to be home by dinnertime tonight but obviously still worrying and stressful)

WIBU to take the pizzas I was planning to give to her and her DSs and leave them outside her house so they have dinner ready in 10 minutes when they do get home?

They are flavours my DC won't eat and I know she / her DC will enjoy.

I don't want it to look rude or like I'm making a point about having bought pizzas as this is not the case at all.

MN jury please..........

Think that's a lovely idea Smile but I would send a message or leave a note just so she knows/to be clear that there's no problem you just want to help out. That way there can be no misunderstanding, sure she will appreciate it

summerintherosegarden · 02/05/2012 08:21

Seriously? YANBU, you're being a good friend...just leave a note with the pizzas saying "hope all went well at hospital, thought you might want a quick dinner"

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 02/05/2012 08:23

It would be lovely of you to leave them for her with a note. I'm sure she will appreciate it.

lisad123 · 02/05/2012 08:25

Yes, do and leave a note. Smile

Sirzy · 02/05/2012 08:26

Sounds like a great idea. Trying to find something you can be arsed cooking feel like eating after a hopsital trip is a pain!

Greatdomestic · 02/05/2012 16:26

What a lovely idea.

dexter73 · 02/05/2012 16:28

You sound lovely!

TeeBee · 02/05/2012 16:36

Awww, that's really kind of you. I can imagine it would be very much appreciated.

scarletforya · 02/05/2012 16:38

Oh yes. Do it, she will want to kiss you! Pizza after a hassle filled afternoon at the hospital will be most welcome.

Yanbu

takeonboard · 02/05/2012 16:53

Its a lovely idea, I would be very pleased if someone did that for me. Just make sure they are in a safe place where thieves and animals can't get them and leave a note!

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 02/05/2012 16:54

Of course YANBU. If I were in her position I would really appreciate the pizza.

Ohyoubadbadkitten · 02/05/2012 16:56

lovely idea :)

bewitchedandbewildered · 02/05/2012 16:57

Mother Theressa said you can't help everyone, but you can start with those nearest to you who need help.

You're a lovely friend. Yes, leave her the pizza.

BellaOfTheBalls · 02/05/2012 16:58

Can you be my friend please? That's lovely! But yes, leave a note!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 02/05/2012 17:02

You're lovely, OP - do it (with a note or text) :)

thebody · 02/05/2012 17:11

Agree all above

Haribojoe · 02/05/2012 17:13

Am sure she'll be pleasednot to have to think about dinner. I was thrilled last week when a friend did the same for me whilst stuck at home with raging mastitis, 3 week old baby, 3 older DC and a husband recovering from minor op!

IAmBooyhoo · 02/05/2012 17:16

i did similar for my old neighbour when her dd was in hospital for a day. i was aking pasta bake so just made two and when she arrived back i just brought it round saying i thought she might be too tired to cook as it was late. she was really grateful for it as it jsut meant she had to reheat it.
