To want some bugger to notice that I've lost nearly two stone?

Narcisistic I know but I've worked so hard, lost nearly two stone and getting on for two dress sizes. I have two new holes in my belt, the last one two and a bit inches from the original hole I was using. Shouldn't someone have spotted this by now? A teeny compliment would be nice ( humph!)

Two things are possible:

  1. Weight loss can be linked to illness - maybe people are being taciturn because they don't want to say anything that might upset?
  1. People love and admire you for your personality, intellect etc. and genuinely don't notice your appearance. They liked you with the 2 stone and like you equally without it?

If you want people to say well done, you will have to point it out to them.

Fantastically well done BTW, you look great :)

Thank you for your kind words! Much appreciated! The norms have fed two kids then headed south. It'll take a hell of a bra to hoist them! You all look fantastic too, btw.

You've lost 2 stone? Congrats that's great, you must have worked so hard :-)

I don't like complimenting people in RL about weight loss incase they think that I'm saying they used to be fat Blush

DrSeuss · 02/05/2012 10:15

I was fat. I'm fully aware of that. If I weren't then why would I lose two stone? Doesn't bother me!

Well done you. Huzzah!

I always notice when people lose weight but rarely comment on it, as I hate people commenting on my own weight, even if it's to tell me I've lost weight. Makes me feel quite self conscious. So that might be the reason.

When I was bigger people would sometimes say 'Oh have you lose weight?' even if I hadn't because they think that's what every fatty wants to hear. No thanks, it isn't.

But then, maybe I'm just miserable Grin

It is a fab weight loss - well done.

Some people don't say anything, not really sure why - I lost a stone and a half and it wasn't until I wore a new dress to a wedding recently that even my family noticed Confused. New clothes will make a difference, I did splash out on some new jeans even though I have more to lose and I felt fab - definitely give yourself an interim reward Grin - it doesn't have to be much but you'll feel great, and people do notice that eventually.

EatsBrainsAndLeaves · 02/05/2012 12:31

DrSeuss - You are looking so slim. Have you lost a lot of weight?
Grin

In fairness I am crap at noticing stuff like this in rl and realised a long time ago that I rarely look at people properly. Someone at work told me that she had been entered for the National Slimming World competition before I realised, oh she has lost a lot of weight. I genuinely hadn't noticed before. And I think she had lost about 4 stone! Blush

choceyes · 02/05/2012 12:40

Depends on how tall you are as well. I have lost 11lbs since Jan and back to my pre preg weight, but I am only 5'2 so it is noticable to others.

Well done though, that is a great loss!

Well done u, that's brill.
