To wish my son wouldn't eat his beans one at a time?

Ok so tongue firmly in cheek here but my 26 month old son will insist on eating his beans one at a time & telling me how many he's eaten!
Have you any idea how long a plate of beans on toast can take to eat?

Smile my 12 year old still does that with peas.

WorraLiberty · 30/04/2012 13:15

Hand him a toothpick and put your feet up Grin

PurplePidjin · 30/04/2012 13:15

This is either a stealth boast about his counting or you serve up reeeeeeeeeeeally small portions Wink

RubyGates · 30/04/2012 13:19

Why do you think cocoa pops and rice crispies are banned in our house?
(He's 3.5)

DD1 used to eat peas one at a time, swallowing them whole as she was scared of biting them in half. She only confessed to this last year aged 17.

Shutupanddrive · 30/04/2012 13:38

Neither of my ds's will eat beans Envy

MrsHelsBels74 · 30/04/2012 13:39

Purple, I would stealth boast...he always gives up at 10 beans & starts again!

I gave my DCs (2.5 and 10mo) beans for lunch today. Lunch took some time...

At least they are being eaten. my DS3 had and still has eating problems and at that age the fact that we could get anything down him that had been grounded up and blended to within an inch of its life would have been seen as a flags out moment. he has just discovered (aged 10) that crisps are not in fact the work of the devil but can be a satisfying high calorie snack that might help him put some weight on! i remember once him insisting on eating all his meals with chopsticks and then kebab skewers.

Oh I've had an awful day today, but this has just made me laugh a lot (thanks for cheering me up) - poor you, OP, I suggest feeding him something else until he has got over the need to count :)

squeakytoy · 30/04/2012 23:09

You can get giant baked beans.. that may speed the process up a bit Grin

MeconiumHappens · 01/05/2012 14:23

This sounds great!! I would give him a reeeeally big bowl of beans, and them log on for a big ol' mn-fest, everyone's a winner!
