Ive just flicked through their passports. They have both had them since they were tiny babies - there is no way you can tell either of their passports are them.

I wonder this as well. We went on holiday with our 7 month old and got the passport when he was 5 months and even then you can see a complete change in his appearence! Nevermind when they are 2 or 3.

But i also wonder how they would change it without it being a pain in the arse, having to get a new one every year?

bumbleymummy · 27/04/2012 08:10

I think you have to get their passports renewed after 3/4 years timetochange. You should probably check it out just in case!

Groovee · 27/04/2012 08:10

My dd has changed a lot in the last 2 years since she had her passport renewed. Their baby ones didn't look like them either.

bumbleymummy · 27/04/2012 08:11

Yep, just checked and DS1s passport was issued when he was 1 and expired 3 years later.

Notinmylife · 27/04/2012 08:12

I have often thought the same, but I certainly wouldn't want to have to get a new one every year. I will be quite sad this year when DS needs a new passport and we no longer get to laugh at his angry baby picture. He doesn't even have the same colour hair as he did in that picture!

RillaBlythe · 27/04/2012 08:14

Bizarre isn't it. I think they last 5 years don't they? DD is 6 weeks old in her pic and asleep

TanteRose · 27/04/2012 08:15

yes, passports for under 16s are valid for 5 years

bumbleymummy · 27/04/2012 08:16

DS1s is Irish so maybe that's why it's different. It is definitely 3 which makes much more sense!

Sirzy · 27/04/2012 08:17

For under 16s they should last one year and cost £10/£20 a time to update (coz we know they wouldn't do it free!)

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 08:18

Yes I just checked - they last 5 years, they are both tiny newborns in photo.

DS is nearly 5.

Just made me think really.

They def should think about something.

We are currently driving to France to take advantage of the free Sky Disneyland tickets (just in case anyone doesn't know about them).

It's odd the random things that pop into your head on a long boring drive.

Hi timetochangeagain,

Sorry to thread hijack but what is this about free Sky Disneyland tickets? How do I find out about this?

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 09:08

Anyone with sky is entitles to 2 free adult tickets to Euro Disney - they are really easy to claim. If you need to change the date it's £7. It's all on the sky website - they have to be claimed by 30th April.

I mentioned it in case people were interested.

StetsonsAreCool · 27/04/2012 09:13

I'm very interested. I'll have a look today - thanks for sharing!

DD was 2 weeks old when we got her passport done. I've got a copy of the pic in my purse, and every time I open it my face does this --> Confused because I don't recognise her! She's two next month, so it will be interesting to see how they identify her from that in 3 years time Grin

ZonkedOut · 27/04/2012 09:13

My DDs passport photos were taken when they were a few months old. I can tell it's them, I don't know if a stranger could, even with close scrutiny.

I'm not sure what the solution would be, but I imagine that if I was to go abroad with the wrong child, there would be other indicators that the border agents would look for.

Jux · 27/04/2012 09:24

I don't have Sky Sad

But my brother does! [brightens]

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 09:32

Good luck anyone who wants them. They are really easy to get.

www.thomsonalfresco.co.uk/lacroixduvieuxpont this caravan park is about 60 miles away and has excellent reviews - very last minute I negotiated £350 for 12 nights excluding ferry.

DS is 21 months and his passport photo was taken when he was about 2 months old. We travelled to the UK recently and both the Belgian and UK passport control officers called out his name to see if he responded - thus checking he was the 'correct' baby. I've heard of passport officers asking slightly older children if this is their mummy or daddy as well.

dana4nyc · 27/04/2012 09:43

Thanks for that! I just claimed our 2 free tickets! Now I'm just trying to find admission prices but they seem to be alluding me!!

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 09:55

Dana try these here I found them
Cheapest for extra tickets.

Ive pmd a few people.

OP posts:
kirsty75005 · 27/04/2012 10:12

@NichyNoo. I've had an officer do that with a 9 month old who was busy looking at the funny doors and completely blanked him.

The officer let me go.

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 10:20

We are almost at port - I wonder if they will speak to the children - the youngest is really pedantic - I can see her saying no if they ask her if I'm mummy!!

OP posts:
dana4nyc · 27/04/2012 10:29

My DC's will be 2 and 7 months when we go in June so I'm thinking they will be free as all prices are from ages 3 and up? I hope so!!!!

timetochangeagain · 27/04/2012 10:32

Yes they are free - I don't have tickets for dd

OP posts:
BiscuitNibbler · 27/04/2012 10:34

Last month DD (3) was asked who we were by border control. Fortunately she said mummy & daddy - was half expecting her to say "I don't know!" and laugh, which is her current answer to most questions.
