Ditto me x 2 DS playing from their bedrooms. I think the amps are up o 11 tonight! When older Ds1 home from uni we've got it x 3 so could be much worse.
I just think how quiet the house is going to be when they fly the nest Smile.

Ooh, can I send DD1 round to join in please? She drives me nuts whining for an electric guitar, I'm being mean and making her learn how to play the acoustic one she has firstGrin

Ive pulled into my driveway on a number of occasions and felt my car vibrating due to the guitar playing going on in my basement, neighbors must loath love me :o
Both my boys play in separate hardcore bands so you can imagine the noise. The half stack they own is almost as tall as me dont get me started on drums :o
Well at least they are not out causing trouble somewheres I guess though sometimes I wish they were

glad to see there are many others out there...i have always been surrounded with guitars and musical instruments as my dad was in a 60's band so have become immune to it lol....Grin

Ours is not a peaceful house at the best of times with 5 dc'sGrin ...3 of them play guitar/elec guitar (as does dh) and elec keyboard. My lovely conservatory, in my dreams was supposed to be for very civilised sitting quietly with nice glass of wine, reading, relaxing etc, is now the 'music room'. We've had a run of exam, school concert, now battle of the bands comp to prep for so full on practise, same song over and over. I veer from "ooh aren't my wonderful dc's so talented and creative" Grin to "can't you just shut up for one minute so I can hear myself think ffs". They start from the minute they get up and every time they are supposed to be doing something else e.g., laundry away, starting homework, they can be found strumming away. It does drive me a bit mad sometimes, at least it's not hardcore stuff...I can have a sing along..if you can't beat them join them.

On the plus side, dd1 (14) performed at the school spring concert, did solo acoustic of a Stereophonics song, was absolutely beautiful, got me a little tearyGrin so it's worth it.

Anyone in Dorset pm me, off the top of my head I can name 5 or 6 clubs with nice soundproof areas you can kick the kids out to for 3 hours several times a week.

I'll be taking half a dozen abroad for a week in the summer to make lots of noise, just think how peaceful your house would be Grin yes I'm mad yes I do it for fun and yes I know exactly what I'm letting myself in for having done it last year too

doormat · 27/04/2012 11:58
