They have asked me to post on here to find out as they think I am Smile. I don't like salt, don't have it on anything (including chips) and don't use it in my cooking ever. They are age 10, 8 and 7 and I don't think they need it but am not sure if I am doing the right thing - I could be making them really want it. What do you think? Thanks

Salt on tomatoes is the law, and with boiled eggs dip the bread in egg dip in salt Yummmyyyyy.

If you don't season anything, they probably DO need it...

I think YABU but I'd probably police the amount they do lob on because you are right, they won't need much.

Cabbagesoup; feeling slightly whimsical about the amount by which salt transforms any kind of pure-egg dish. You are so right.

We are a salt-free household but allow it on shop-bought chips and on home-cooked roast potatoes....those are the only exceptions to the rule.

to all of you who are salt-free living purists, I am pretty sure I read an article recently which implied that you need sodium in your diet to keep good mental health. so a virtually salt-devoid diet could lead to depression or make one more vulnerable to it....

YOU ARE MAKING IT AN ISSUE

Why not say 'yes but not too much'
Rather than 'no way when we are in the house'

By having one rule for outside and one rule for inside it is making them aware of the discrepancy and they are going to want it

Teaching moderation at all times is much better than creating random bans and drama.

Daftest rule ever
