Especially when you don't have any of your facts right.

If you're not sure or are uncomfortable with something I do, then ask me about it, I won't bite your head off.

Running to the authorities will only serve to really piss me off.

Rant over!

Fair enough. It sounds like you have the right to be cheesed off then about them not asking you nicely what was going on first.

I love the idea of a bird 'shouting'. Grin

tinkertitonk · 24/04/2012 18:27

I am quite certain that whatever birds of prey have it's not tea; the hint is in the word "prey".

So YABU.

EXmrsmascarahead · 24/04/2012 18:30

They have food at tea time therefore it is their tea and as their food has not been hunted, it's not prey Grin

FWIW my neighbour has two fucking parakeets and they are VERY VERY ANNOYINGLY LOUD. They caw all blinking day and she does something at night to shut them up (presumably she gives them Nytol or does Gina Fordesque sleep training - I don't know I can only hear them not see them). I can see your neighbour's PoV. But yes they should talk to you about it first.

EXmrsmascarahead · 24/04/2012 18:34

They are not making noise all day , one bird for 5 mins at 4 o clock, that's all.

OP posts:
WorraLiberty · 24/04/2012 18:35

But if you thought someone was abusing an animal, what would be the point in speaking to the owner?

They're hardly going to admit to it.

MarySA · 24/04/2012 18:37

I don't agree with wild birds held captive in cages. Sorry.

EXmrsmascarahead · 24/04/2012 18:38

They are not wild birds,

There must be more to it than just five mins once a day, I know there are some weird neighbours out there, but who could be bothered to go to all that trouble just for that?

Have you ever talked to the neighbour before?

Does she just not like them and it looking for an excuse?

Hullygully · 24/04/2012 18:41

ExMrsmascarahead - I know I made you have that name and I'm fairly sure I love you very much, but could you remind me of the circs?

Hullygully · 24/04/2012 18:42

I do know why you have that name, but I can't remember any of the rest of it

'Male sex doll thread'

Y'can't say that and not link Shock

NarkedPuffin · 24/04/2012 18:49

I don't like birds being caged. I don't like birds being kept or reared in captivity.

Having said that, I'm glad the woman did something about her concerns. Ok, at the moment you're pissed off, but if it were someone other than you, wouldn't you rather someone cared enough to make sure the birds were well cared for, even if she couldn't/wouldn't knock on the owner's door? Obviously if you feel it was malicious then I understand your irritation, but I am actually glad that someone acted on their concerns, even though they were way off the mark in your case.

mayaswell · 24/04/2012 18:51

God, this place just gets weirder. I love the idea that someone with a feckin eagle in their living room is 'bothered' by nosy neighbours!

EXmrsmascarahead · 24/04/2012 18:53

I can't link (on iPod) but if you law arch for plastic vagina you should be able to find the male sex dolls

OP posts:
NarkedPuffin · 24/04/2012 18:53

You really don't want to know. Or if you do, you really don't want to click on the links if there are those of a delicate disposition in the room.

Hullygully · 24/04/2012 18:57

OH YES!

EXmrsmascarahead · 24/04/2012 18:58

Only on MN can a thread about neighbours and birds involve plastic vaginas and male sex dollsGrin

And yes, as someone that has had to confiscate abused birds from others I can see my neighbours point of view, better safe than sorry! I'm not having a good year and this is just another thing that I have to deal with.
Must keep repeating to myself 'shit happens, deal with it'

It's such a great name! So pleased you still have it...

Methe · 24/04/2012 19:16

My neighbour had a parrot for a bit that was so damn noisy I used to fantasise about knocking it off it's perch with a catapult to shut it up!

Thankfully she got rid of it or one of the other neighbours got thhere first!

olgaga · 24/04/2012 19:23

it's one bird that shouts for 5 mins at tea time

Your poor neighbour - sounds like a nightmare.
