Nobody with a modicum of respect and intelligence would do something like what you're suggesting, OP. When I read your thread and the responses that followed, I thought I'd gone to NetMums by mistake. It's more the sort of thing I'd expect from women of lower intelligence.

ComposHat · 19/04/2012 05:42

I dispair I really do.

Some people would see being de-friended as a really hostile gesture and it could make things awkward and unpleasant if your husband has kids
with his ex wife.

I'm also a bit surprised at the number of people egging the op on. If a male was trying to delete his wife's ex from her Facebook account rightfully be accused of being a domineering bully who was trying to control her contact with the outside world.

DollysDrawers · 19/04/2012 05:55

To delete her would just be shit stirring. I can't stand DH's exW for many reasons but wouldn't even occur to me to do this. And the word 'frape' is just hideous.

ComposHat · 19/04/2012 06:01

Agreed dolly frape makes shudder inwardly.

ErikNorseman · 19/04/2012 07:55

Frape

Hmm
chipsandmushypeas · 19/04/2012 08:08

I blocked my DPs ex from both our pages after many vile comments, he couldn't bring himself to tell her to fuck off, so i did.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 19/04/2012 09:16

Of course you shouldn't do it, but you know that. I cant believe there are so many people saying you should delete! I have my ex on my fb, and his new dp. And my dh is on exs fb. Occasionally we put photos of the dc on there (none of us have public profiles) and its nice to see each others pictures. I would hate to think that someone could put pictures of my dc on the Internet and I wouldn't be allowed to see them because of some petty and irrelevant jealousy.

WhaleOilBeefHookedIWill · 19/04/2012 09:20

Agree with the term 'frape' and think anyone who uses it is to put it mildly, a donkey

VodkaJelly · 19/04/2012 09:22

I am friends with my exH on facebook, we didnt part on good terms but it was so long ago, we dont really comment on each others posts so not sure why we are friends! Confused

But i would be furious if DP deleted anybody off my facebook. His most serious 2 ex's (before me) are not on facebook but he wouldnt add them anyway

Rindercella · 19/04/2012 09:24

Why are you jealous of his ex wife? Definitely do not delete her - it will make you look petty and jealous and could cause unnecessary problems, but it sounds like you know this.

I actually think that in-laws cease to be family when a couple get divorced. Your husband's sister is of course your sister-in-law when you are married, but when you divorce you are no longer related by law. Of course you may well remain friends, she may feel like a sister, etc., but the family connection ceased when the decree absolute was issued.

Rindercella · 19/04/2012 09:25

And frape is a vile term.

DartsAgain · 19/04/2012 09:39

I'd have no problem if DP had his ExW on Facebook, but he doesn't do Facebook anyway. In fact I have more to do with the ExW, as we are friendly and she's a member of the darts team I play in......Grin

DP and I have been together 25 years now, he's friendly with her but there's no unresolved issues, etc, so not a big deal.

FondleWithCare · 19/04/2012 10:31

What exactly are you jealous of?

I have a couple of ex's on Facebook, as does my partner. I really can't see the issue, I wouldn't dream of deleting anybody from his friend list and would be livid if he did it to me.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 19/04/2012 10:34

Err he could just add her again though surely?

peugotgringo · 19/04/2012 10:41

I blocked my DH's ex and a couple of her friends. He knew I was doing it, on both my profile and his. We were planning our wedding and she was shit stirring. I didn't want her or her friends to know anything about either one of us.
She's a complete bitch and I felt perfectly justified in removing her from his profile. Each scenario is different!

MissFaversham · 19/04/2012 10:44

My DP has his ex on his. I had their two teenage kids on mine until his 19 year old DD posted "sod revision i'm off on a girlie night" (she is very very studious by the way and studying to be a vet), I commented "You go girl". Well, the mother started slagging me off.

I text the kids telling them it wasn't worth the aggro and told them I was going to delete, and did so. I also deleted DP.

Can't be arsed with all this facebook shite.

boringnickname · 19/04/2012 10:44

why is she on his facebook if he dislikes her?

Paiviaso · 19/04/2012 11:06

"i will bloody well do it if he annoys me though"

Now you really do sound 15!
