I live in the driest spot in Britain, there is a drought, we are all on a hosepipe Ban.....

And it hasn't stopped BLOODY RAINING for the best part of a fortnight! Confused
If this is a drought, God forbid we ever get a rainy spell!

I also bought new sunglasses, sorry! Planning on buying wellies this week...

We've just moved house in this drought. It's been horrendous. And wet.

In my parents' town, the drought caused a flood in the town center and traffic had to be redirected. And their town in on chalk.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/04/2012 20:57

The drought has made me wet so many times that now I have a streaming cold! Sad

DS1 asked me when the drought would stop raining on him this morning!
I must remember that 7 yr old boys don't get irony - I think he thinks it's a new word for "rain" Smile

In hour of saggy i too am blaming my horrendous 5 day cold and fever on the blasted drought

tinkertitonk · 24/04/2012 22:23

The problem is that all rain that falls at this time of year (northern hemisphere spring) is used by the plants.

Bastard selfish plants, never thinking of us.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 24/04/2012 22:26

Yeah, and it's not even as if the plants are pulling their weight! The flipping hay crop has been appalling recently!

Thanks for cheering me up Saggy Grin. I was pissed off with the weather 'up here' as I have had to move from sunny Chelmsford to 'oop North' - it makes me feel better knowing that it's awful down there too!

Minimammoth · 25/04/2012 10:25

Our drought has caused DH to cancel his ( outdoor work) has blown over the garden table and is hurling horizontal wetness. The plants are drinking greedily but shivering.

ChitChatFlyingby · 25/04/2012 10:53

My poor DS is going to have to go out in his shorts to school next week in this drought - it's summer, dontcha know!!!!! Hmm

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 25/04/2012 11:06

The drought is so heavy here that the grass in my paddock has stopped drinking and started drowning!
