On the bus back from town, woman gets on with one if those icandy (or whatever they're called) double buggies where one is below facing away and one is above facing towards the pusher.
Anyway there was a little boy of about 18 months underneath and his feet were sticking out from under the rain cover and he was only wearing socks and shorts (fuck knows why when its been pissing it down all day!) Water was dripping on his feet and he was crying.
I bit my tounge for about 5 minutes before i said anything because im quite shy but eventually i politely said 'excuse me, sorry, you probably can't see but your little boys feet are sticking out of the rain cover and waters dripping on them.' She gave me mega evils and then said 'thanks' really sarcasticly before sorting it out.
I don't know if it's because im a young mum and she was older and didn't like the fact id pointed it out or if she was just a bit of an arse or having a bad day.
should i have kept my mouth shut?
Apologies if theres any typos , im on my phone.

On the bright side she sorted it out. Just be glad you did say something. She may have been having a bad day, she may have had a problem because she was older than you, she may have had a squint Wink who knows, but it's really irrelevent because she DID sort it out (and didn't nut you into the bargain!!) I remember telling some mum on a bus that her 2 year old had finished her plum and was sucking the stone - my God I got the evils that time! Her excuse was "I know but it keeps her quiet"!!

Maybe he refused to wear shoes and had refused to wear anything but shorts and had been doing it all day?

CreepyWeeBrackets · 18/04/2012 15:27

You sound perfectly reasonable and helpful.

She sounds like an absolute cunt but then - bad day, happens to us all.

Yeah im glad i did say something but still think she could have been a bit more polite! :)

I used to have a DD who insisted on wearing weird and wonderful clothes combinations.

She also tantrummed.

A lot.

Maybe she was just at the end of her tether and sounded sharper than she meant to?
