In a roundabout way (I think I was reading something in the Daily Fail about a brothel which was in a nearby town, which lead to Googling...) I have found various websites for 'escorts', many of which have 'punter reviews' and lots of other info IYSWIM.

Now, call me naive but I have never browsed such sites before and, bizarrely, have found myself rather turned on by some of it. I am now wondering if, perhaps, some of the women do actually enjoy their job due to their high sex drives for example - ie justifying me feeling turned on. I am now freaked out as I have always viewed men who pay for sex as the lowest of the low etc etc.

I think I know the answer to this (ie I AM being unreasonable, and naive to think anything otherwise etc), but also want some strong arguments to get me out of this unnervingly fruity frame of mind, so AIBU to find some of the sites or write ups a turn on...?

Yes, definately read Nancy Friday, it was her books that let me know my fantasies were ok and that i wasnt some sort of deviant (and gave me more food for thought!!!) Grin Fantasy is good, it really is - but mostly, unless you have a loving partner to ACT it out with, its best left at that really.

I recommend Nancy Friday too - I think you are confusing fantasy / porn with the rather more revolting real life version of what actually happens.

A friend, journo, once lured a man who visited sex workers into thinking she wanted to meet him for a night of passion and acting out fantasies (she was interviewing women in a brothel at the time, which is how she met him in the first place.) After a few weeks she knew his real name, place of work etc and wrote to his employer enclosing details (I presume proof) of what he gets up to in his spare time. Funnily enough, things got quite hard for him at work after that!

At the time I was not sure what I thought of what she did (it did seem a bit silly in some ways) but now I think, rightly or wrongly, ha! Hahahahaha! Revolting seedy little man...

HeartsJandJ that's really horrible about the man who liked to go to trafficked girls. I mean it's all horrid, but he has still managed to take it to a new level. Ugh.

babysaurus - I actually think that's a little bit out of order of your friend Confused

MadamFolly · 18/04/2012 17:04

Literotica is your friend.

Wicked I know what you mean. I kind of agree but at the same time think 'meh' due to the subject matter, if that makes sense. She said she got so incensed with his arrogant views (lots of women wanted to shag him, they loved it, all women 'want it' and are secretly 'whores' and so on) that she justified it due to that. Am still a bit Confused myself

wickedwitchofwaterloo · 18/04/2012 20:51

babysaurus - Totally get where you are coming from actually, I suppose it's easy for me to cast judgement and feel it was out of order because his personal life has nothing to do with work etc, but it must of been quite difficult to sit there and listen to those sorts of things without getting enraged. It's a tough one Confused

A good friend of mine was a prostitute for a year or two, I asked her 46743 questions about it I was so intrigued. She said that she did enjoy it a lot of the time, she said she would orgasm too. She said she turned mem down if she was uncomfortable but I got the impression that she didnt often feel the need to do so.

babysaurus · 19/04/2012 17:59

Wicked, I felt similar tbh. It seemed a bit out of order and unneccessarily so, but then perhaps I would have felt like doing similar if I'd been the one listening to him spouting on.

Whitetrash gosh re your friend. I suppose that's more like fodder for a whole new thread, but your post has got me wondering how often soemthing like that is the case. I can't imagine it is very often, nor can I imagine the majority of, erm, 'customers' would be in any way people anyone in their right mind would want to shag in the first place but that makes it all the more intriguing.
