I'm sure a lot of you will know but many wont, that the laws surrounding cosmetics being tested on animals are still worryingly loose. Lush cosmetics are leading a new campaign to get this sorted. Have a look at the site and if you feel compelled to do so, please sign the petition. More needs to be done.

Many thanks

Please don't equate animal testing for drugs discovery and animal testing for cosmetics.

Animal testing for cosmetics is unnecesary and illegal in the UK. Animal testing for new drugs is an absoletely essential part of drug development. Evey effort is made to reduce and replace animals where possible. Scientists in Pharma companies are not evil people that do this for fun. They are dedicated scientist that want to find cures for human (and animal) diseases.

A friend of mine (aged 20) is in Jail for demonstrating against animal testing, she isn't violent just very clued up and intelligent and a true activist, she is still serving her sentence now, it is very sad but big drugs/cosmetics companies are EXTREMELY powerful, I beleive the only way to stop this is, to stop creating a demand.

So stop getting sick?

I don't use products tested on animals whenever possible (except medicines). I do, however, boycott Lush for their hypocritical support of "Plane Stupid".
