To think my friend is quite cheeky sometimes?

I love my friend to bits but she will think nothing of turning up at people's houses with nothing but will often ask for things to be cooked for her/fed to her kids.

I've side-stepped it this time by saying I'll get half of the food and she can get half. We are on more money than her and her partner but she's had thousands from her parents and can always find money to go out on a weekend.

That's beyond cheeky and into the realms of bizarre, OP. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd turn up at a friend's house and say 'Can you make me a lasagne?' or whatever.

If I'm invited expressly for lunch/dinner/whatever then I'd expect that food would have been cooked or bought in (and I'd take along drink/pudding/a side dish or whatever seemed appropriate). But the idea of just turning up, at say 11.30am or 4pm, and saying 'Cook me a plate of pasta, will you?' ...

Surely the only situation in which you can turn up, sit down and ask for a specific dish to be made for you is in a cafe/restaurant?

I had a family member who often turned up uninvited and expected a tea invite. It soon stopped when the 4 of us sat down to tea and left her and her son to watch us. Moneywise we were struggling as it was without extra mouths to feed.

She'll usually ask in advance but asking for dessert one day when I'd already cooked and she hadn't brought a thing pushed me (and others) over the edge!

Most of my friends will say as others 'just bring yourself' when ask but I always try and take something even if it's a big bowl of snacky bits.

I know they have struggled at times but it is annoying when you know she'll find money to go out on the piss!
